"This is Guru Gobind Singh jis Panth, there is no other... There are many who claim to be but this is the true tribe, Budha Dal."
-Jathedar Baba Santa Singh Ji 96 Crori
Born near Gujjranwala (now in Pakistan) , Baba Santa Singh Ji joined Buddha Dal at the young age of 10, under the leadership of the 12th Commander Brahmgyani Baba Chet Singh Ji 96 Crori.
Having a stood mindset firmly on serving the Panth, Baba Ji quickly mastered the art of War, Shastar Vidya, horse riding while performing their daily duties of preparing langar and Sukhnidhan for the Nihang Singh's at the base. They also, at the same time under the guidance of Baba Chet Singh Ji, became fluent in all 3 darbars. Sri Aad, Sri Dasam and Sri Sarbloh Darbar.
It was in May 1969 after the passing of Akali Baba Chet Singh Ji 96 Krori, that Baba Santa Singh Ji became the next Commander of the Panth, and it was marked down in history as the 13th Commander. It was from then that Baba Ji expanded the base of the Dal Panth even further by acquiring many lands across India, started a monthly magazine called the "Nihung Singh Sandesh" and set up countless weapon manufacturing facilities across India ran by Nihang blacksmiths to accommodate the needs of the Khalsa Panth to be ever ready with arms.
Baba Santa Singh Ji were also known for taking the seva of Akal Takht in 1984, making sure that the original foundations were preserved as much as possible, which unfortunately later on, under the name of 'sarkari seva' , the Takht was torn down destroying the hard preserved foundations.
Throughout their life, while keeping the Chakrvarti Dal in check, at the utmost highest standards , they also carried out commentaries of Sri Sarbloh Guru Granth and Sri Gur Panth Prakash, alongside the printing of Buddha Dal Gutkas and various other books which are now either lost or in private collections.
We could praise Akali Ji the whole day yet their contributions are ineffable and cannot be all expressed in just few sentences.
Salutations to the 13th commander.
