This song is from the 180 Gs' album "Singin' to God".
"Singin' to God" is an a cappella cover version of Cardiacs' brilliant 1995 double album "Sing to God". It is ninety minutes of some of the most ingenious and challenging rock-oriented music on earth, arranged and sung by Detroit's legendary singing group: "The 180 Gs". The Gs have managed to remain faithful to the large and small details of Cardiacs' music, even while layering more than 100 voices on each song.
Every musical sound on this album (from the drums and bass to the lead vocals and guitar solos) was created with the voices and bodies of the 180 Gs (with the exception of a kazoo on 1 song and some occasional environmental sounds throughout).
This album was intended to be heard without pauses between songs so if you burn a cd, set the "between-song time" to zero.
"Singin' to God" contains the very first cover versions of many of these songs by any group. The Gs have also, with the release of this album, coined a new genre for critics to bandy about: Pronkapella.
Half of the price of each download will be donated to the fund for Tim Smith's ongoing medical care.

Yes, Tim heard every song on “Singin’ to God”. We made 8 or 9 a cappella arrangements of 8 or 9 songs from Sing to God, posting them on Soundcloud as they were finished. Tim heard a couple of these and encouraged us to recreate the entire “Sing to God” double album. After this point, all songs were sent to Tim first. He would provide feedback and more encouragement when he was able. ❤❤❤

This is a marvellous reinterpretation of Dirty Boy. At one point I thought it was going to segue into “ I am the walrus”

Thank you! Spending more than 4 years on this double album was one of the most educational experiences of my life. It is indeed meant as a tribute. Before first becoming aware of Cardiacs in 2009, I’d never encountered music like this before (and I’ve always gravitated toward “experimental”music).
