Super100MPH presents the 1967 Gallaher 500 as a tribute to Australian motor racing legend Harry Firth who passed away on April 27, 2014, age 96. This race was Harry's fourth win in the '500' and Fred Gibson's first. It was also the first time that a Ford Falcon GT won at Mount Panorama. And they did it in style!

In NZ we used to drive the car to the circuit back in the 70s. Strip the extra seat out, put the side exit exhaust on n change the wheels to the widened ones with extra rubber

No bloody safety fences, No safety car, road wasn't tard properly. These guys were mad lol love that era of racing, nothing replaces it.

Nice film clip . Good to watch the oldies wizzing around the track , seemed much more exciting than the current formula where often one car takes the lead , and that is how it stays for the whole race , not too mention the modern race cars while fast handle too well , it would probably be unfair to call it boring , but it just does not have the same excitement as the racing of old .
