The 1975 have returned in 2020 with their 4th album Notes On A Conditional Form. It's their most ambitious project yet, hopping from new wave to soft rock to ambient electro. But what else would you expect? Here, from isolation, frontman Matty Healy chats John Kennedy through every song on the album.

No matter what anyone says about Matty, I think he's got a real pure soul -- I love his enthusiasm for music and how he doesn't feel the need to apologize for sounds he has affection for, or whatever he's sentimental about. It's lovely hearing him talk.

It may sound odd......but I actually wish I had watched this video _before_ listening to NOACF in it's entirety. This interview gave so much perspective on what I already heard. Guess I'm going to have to listen to it again...and many more times after that. Oh shucks.... lol. I think I'll be ok.

Love these longer more in depth interviews. Matty's recent podcasts as well. So often I find that online diversions meant to cheer just leave me feeling empty, but a conversation between two people so passionate about music, this is food for the soul.

lol....Matty's cutting his hair....bit by bit. Then again....I bet 3 months from now he'll have hair down to his shoulders and dyed blue or something. If anyone could grow their hair out that fast....it's Matty. He's the most ADD person I've ever seen in terms of changing hair styles. Kinda wish I had that courage. I tend to stick with what I like... :P

I've listened to the album a dozen times already and though it hasn't reached the peaks of enjoyment of the last two albums....I'm confident it will. The 22 tracks go by quickly hitting a peak at "Nothing Revealed/Everything Denied".......it is another amazing body of work.

John Kennedy is such a great interviewer. I love all his interviews with Matty, including the Tape Notes stuff. You can tell he's really excited about the music and knows a lot about Matty and how he makes his music. So great
