i absolutely love how the chalk on the wall makes you look a little harder, and then the end when she removes her clown makeup and matty pulls that face of ‘actually i’m not sure i am in love with you now i’ve seen you for who you really are and you’re no longer a mystery or a chase for me’. people love the excitement, the idea of someone, then once they get to know them..’everyone is disappointing once you get to know them.’ it’s absolutely brilliant.

So in a continuity: "A Change of Heart" - Two people in love, slowly falling out of it and parting ways "Somebody Else" - Coming to terms with the fact that it's over and focusing entirely on yourself. "I'm in love with you" - Finding out that you were in love all along and pursuing it again, only to see that yes, sometimes it does work out if you try hard enough. Wow 🥺

Wow, well you sound like a music scholar on the way up. Bach did this for this reason, Beethoven did that for this reason. Amazing stuff. All based upon speculation. I had to study shit like that. They are not connected until the writer says to you that they are. In terms of Bach and Beethoven, the scholars just made up their own narrative because they obviously couldn't ask them. Ask the writer of the song or Matt if you will. Are these songs connected, I'm guessing that's a big NO.

Love the 1975 ❤ this is a one of my favourite pop songs of all time. The harmonies are sheer perfection and the song is just pure joy to listen to. I'm 53 years old born in 1970 and am listening to this in March 2024, a truly unique and happy song - a masterpiece of pop!!!

Change of Heart was the song that got me into the 1975. From then on its been nothing short of an obsession. They have done everything except disappoint me, I have songs that I love from every album. I have a feeling in my heart that this album is going to be special. "Happiness" and "I'm In Love With You" are already two of my favorite songs by the 1975, ever. Cannot wait for the album release.

Change of heart was one of the first songs i heard before there 2nd album release. It was a live version from a concert performace. I listened to it on repeat until the official release. The exact same thing has happened with this song 😄

Hey I’m 61, soon to be 62, and have always been a huge music fan. I just recently discovered this band and I gotta say that they are amazing! The lead singer, Matty, and the entire sound of this band, have the IT factor! I have not been excited about a band or performer like this for a very long time. I see nothing but great things for this band in the future! I see that they will be performing in my hometown of Phoenix in November and I am going to try to be there for sure! I love the visual hidden messages that give away the ending of the song, what a work of art, both musically and visually! The 1975 keep on recycling themselves by only becoming more ingrained with their true essence. Musically the songs are full of dopamine hits, while visually and lyrically a more honest depiction of relationships are explored! Wow, I have been a fan since the 1975 album, but it is truly so good to see how much the band has grown! I can't wait to hear the new album!

@@mr_nxbxdy give King No One - Two Islands a listen, a lot of their stuff sounds the same though. There wasn't really a band like The 1975 which is why they were as good as they were, the second album with The Sound on it was good but their Third was so far away from their previous stuff.

this reminds me of my favorite line in the movie Singstreet where the protagonist said " It's like, when you don't know someone, they're more interesting. They can be anything you want them to be. It is amazing to feel myself maturing along with this band through the years, I love how even the small details are meaningful on their work. All the visual investigation of self-referential elements and easter eggs make this video so fun to watch! Such a happy song but the video somehow brings the humanity of some kind of a progressive loss of the ability to be amazed after you get to know someone a bit better (remind of synecdoche ny)… I couldn’t relate more. Matty’s dancings are getting better every time, so good to see him looking well and healthy. They are definitely at their best! 🤎
