possibly the most impractical boat I've ever seen

I actually saw the prototype of this boat a few years back in Monaco and was lucky enough to have a sea trial on it. I really struggle to see who would actually buy this as it isn't really big enough for a family and doesn't have much outside space to be particularly sociable. It is beautiful to look at but for me that's about it.

Ever so impractical, but ever so lovely. Cant wait for the report on the first person to sit on that head and do their business. Looks like it might be a little complicated.

"Dissapointing" pretty much sums this boat up well. It is too slow for what it "aims" to be. The design is both unattractive and outdated - there's zero charm to this. Add to that how unpractical this is, I don't see why anyone would ever pay even 1/10 the asking prize of this...

The toilet is a fancy bucket.

Oh boy very classy entrance for Hugo. The silver hull colour, white seats and the helm all present a package that looks luxurious and will cut a stylish package to those who see her. Kust when you dont think she can have any more surprises her interior cabin is an outside in with the opening windows, a table to eat at or a bed. Oh and storage and more storage. Then you get the heads, with hidden toilet. Then opposite a mini Galley for drinks. Everything slides in or out smoothly hardly any noises as the table or bed is deployed She is unique and the price reflects the quantity.

Hugo and Jack always make the best videos and get the coolest boats. That boat is like a spaceship or something

It would make a rather neat superyacht tender/limousine. Me being a bit of a "Frank Spencer" it would end in disaster with getting my foot stuck in the hid-away loo and any other pratfalls you can dream up :)

Saying I don't like it, is an understatement. Ok, the side windows, I like. This boat defines that unique, special and different are not always good things. If somebody offered me the money to buy this boat, even at gun pointed at me, I would try to talk my way out of it. If somebody buys this boat, they are going to need another boat to enjoy boating. This boat makes all those 50 foot center console boats look like smart buys. I have never seen 46 feet wasted so effieciently. If the boat had some performance that would be somewhat acceptable but this hasn't. Once all your friends have seen those gimmicks for one time, the appeal is going to wear out fast. Even the driver's position didn't seem to have any adjustment possibilities. As a boat journalist your criticism should go up as the price of the product goes. Instead you seem to accept shortcomings you wouldn't accept from a boat half the size and under 5% of the prize.

That's one way of wasting 2.9m

Ok, that was awesome! I kept thinking there will be a pop-up kitchen but them biscuits will be great. Clearly for the young single/couple anchored outside the marina kind of boats. Other then that I would not mind one.

That is really sleek and purposeful looking, with some lovely innovative details. Love the interior, so different to conventional interiors.

It's definitely interesting from a conceptual point. As far as practicality, though, definitely a hard boat to live with, I think...

I like the fact that Mercedes are trying to convey a idea of what they would like in a weekender type of boat and some of the ideas are clever. Thing for me though is that I don't think this is at Mercedes level in terms of luxury, innovative design and level of workmanship. I like the idea of the multi-facit use of seating, sleeping and dinning, but the glass table is not working for me, nor the materials used in the rear of the seats. I really don't like the front glass access to the bow of the yacht. The head and the kitchen area don't seem to work well either.

That Trawler Yacht next door looks stunning (ahhh a De Valk - I’ll have to look that one up). I would say, speaking from personal experience, Mercedes’ cars are several leagues of style and polish above this little runabout. So yes it may make a nice little Super Yacht tender, but not much else.

Unusual I think sums this up for me, I think some Hot Wheels graphics wouldn't go a miss. It comes across toy like to me personally

However, being old and curmudgeonly, the house, boathouse, car and boat would reside somewhere like Wroxham on the Broads…….. anyway, Roy’s don’t have a branch in Monte Carlo……. 🥳🇬🇧

Totally impractical, it seems like it was designed for the water version of the le mans 24 hour race. Even if I had that sort of money I wouldn´t waste it on this boat.

crazy expensive, so it will sell, love the concepts in this boat, however, no shower, blinds, ability to cook, its not a weekender, but love the pull out bed and table, love the seating. The loo needs to be electrical opening. The speed needs to be faster. I love the shape of the boat and that there is no straight lines. I would not buy it though if I had the money as its basically a very fancy day boat

Very stylish, nice choice of materials/ design but seems to be missing the basics for a weekender. Curtains/ shading?? Cooking? Shower? The price is 10 x to expensive. It wouldn’t see which way a Saxopar GTC had sped off to !!

That is one phenomenal boat! At €2.9million I think it's very good value too. Yes, it's a lot of money; but the exclusivity of owning one of these has to go a long way toward making it worthwhile. I was a little surprised at the performance figures, I expected it to be knocking on the door of something around 50 knots; but high 30's is not to be sniffed at. I would imagine too that the hull designe makes it fairly economical too. Wonderful boat, a great tour, I'd like to ser one at sea - thank you

It's great, but I couldn't help noticing that there's nowhere to cook...? I mean, not even the means to make a cup of coffee. Great looking boat, no question about it, but I'm curious as to why you'd have such a huge dining table, when there's no way to actually cook a dinner...

That Bimini cover looks like something I could have picked up at Kmart, And of course slick glass steps on a boat make perfect sense. Well, I guess they look good... Are you kidding with that toilet? I would pee myself before I ever got the damn thing out of the cabinet! This entire vessel is ridiculous.

The Aston Martin boat is stunning and a work of art, the Lamborghini boat is mad and fast, the Porsche inspired super yacht is elegant, yet the Mercedes boat is…. weird and pointless 🤷‍♂️ I don’t get it. A huge amount of money for a cross between a river cruiser from the ‘70’s and a futuristic blob!

Really nice boat, but the shape of the hull, and the price at $$3 million had me thinking the yacht would be fast. If it were capable of say 75 knots or more, then it would be special, and maybe worth the cost.

A massive table but no where to store or prepare food. Its a stunning boat for sure, but this just isn't for me. There's too many compromises in the name of style.

This needs a shower, outdoor grill & mini bar, an induction range, water maker, waste incinerator and it would be perfect. Does it have the range to go from Miami or Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas or Bermuda? Can it go from the Bahamas to the Virgin Islands? Make the first two storage seats a chest refrigerator and the the other a chest freezer. In the bathroom install to folding glass or lucite doors attached to the doors of the cabinet. Unfold them and you’ll have a shower enclosure. Have a shower tower on the curved wall opposite. Make the whole floor a waterproof drain. Have a 60” tv that flips down from the ceiling & can swivel. With those modifications this could be a great weekender or even an efficiency live-on yacht. You could make a black edition in matte black or paint it black with solar panels fitted to the body geometry to charge batteries to run the air conditioning, lights, and induction range. Add rare earth magnets inside the skin of the boat surrounding the cockpit. Have a canopy that can be in closed magnetically attach to the skin and is supported by the top of the canopy windshield and an easily installed hoop frame containing magnets at the rear.

I want to point out that is this a fancy day boat, not a yacht for passage. It might be a tender for a super duper mega yacht, or just kept tied up at your Villa so you can be picked up from your yacht and ferried over for your lunch. Or maybe just kept in the Caribbean or Med so you can scoot between islands carrying your picnic lunch. I could see this in the Hamptons so you could scoot over to Gardner's Island and do some bird watching with your picnic lunch. If there is any cooking to be done the Chef can bring a grill and cook on the beach. I'd hang out with Bobby Flay whipping up a Brunch on the beach.

Price is utterly ridiculous, give me a Supermarine Spearfish any day!

I echo what Simon David stated; I'm not sure what market it's aimed at. They should have used 1 space by the toilet as a shower. Also, the table dominates the whole boat. For me it's dead space. I like the bed conversion though.

Just like Mercedes.. Lots of expensive mechanics that can/will break. Would love to know upkeep expense after 5 years..

I see lots of criticism about this boat, but maybe we are overlooking the intended market placement. That is, it is very clearly not aimed at those/us looking for a practical boat. Rather it is aimed at the very rich who want a bit of a folly (and who probably have other boats to fit different requirements). It is a very clever and innovative design (apart from the toilet mechanism). But inevitably this will be a very exclusive second or third boat for super rich who maybe want to show off a little. As for the people commenting about it not having a shower…. do you really think this was an oversight? No! There is no shower because the manufacturer knows the type of people who will inevitably use this boat…. i.e. they will not be spending enough time on it to need a shower, and if they did want a shower they would doubtless retire back to their superyachts or 6-star hotels rather than be exposed to the discomfort of having a shower in a tiny awkward space with little privacy. I’d never be able to (or want to) buy something like this but as a boating enthusiast it is great to see something different, uncompromising and leftfield.

Did i miss the cooker ? i like to fry my fish fresh from the sea ;)
