Unfortunately it's just a minority of people who want fast manual sedans/hatchbacks. All we can look at is the golf GTI/R and the WRX. No more focus RS or Mitsubishi Evo or manual Audi's and BMW. All been replaced by automatic crossovers for the "family"

You're right. And here in the U.K. all cars sold new will have to be hybrid or electric by 2040. (unless the government changes it's mind) its autos or nothing then, wrapped in a bland box and mated to a milkfloat engine. Now is the time for petrolheads to get out there and enjoy themselves. I went from a 2018 Ford 150 Lariat fully loaded to a 2022 Ford Explorer ST and man I am so happy i went with the ST! This SUV is everything and all that i have ever wanted in a vehicle! It is super nice, has all the performance you could ever want, looks great, the handling is amazing. The speed. I am so happy!

Yep, came here to comment that, too. I own this vehicle and both the front passenger and driver’s seats come standard with massager function at the ST trim level. In fact, if you look at his video at about 8:13 or so, you can see on the screen that it has a button for the passenger seat massage adjustment 🤦🏼‍♂️

I grew up riding in Explorers. My mom had a 94 when I was born, then a 2004, and later a 2013. She’s a grandma now, but she has grown to like explorers so much that she just upgraded to a 24

Rented one of these in July of this year and fell in love with practically everything. Couldn't afford a used one that was at least a 2020 so I ended up going with the 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid and just love it. My only complaint would be that it's co-pilot 360 is not as advanced as the 2020 Explorer. I could basically let go of the steering wheel in the Explorer whereas if I try that in my Fusion it kinda drifts trying to correct itself and it's not as great as the Explorer when trying to stay in between the lanes but overall it's still decent and something I've gotten used to so it's not so much of a dealbreaker anymore. Everything else is just as great as the Explorer was in a sedan

@@jakem137yago6 Yes that's true the srt Durango and trackhawk are faster and Doug did give the jeep a 9 in acceleration but that's a low 3 second suv the durango is a sub 5 second suv and if Doug would review one it would probably get a 6 for acceleration

Jacob Maggard but the Explorer is more useable and more comfortable and a realistic daily driver, the SRT vehicles have a very rough ride to them and have almost zero off road capabilities

Just one thing to note I recently test drove one of these and the passenger seat does also have the massage function. Doug states only the drivers seat, but both front seats have it.

The 2020 Explorer is badass. I just bought a 2020 Explorer Limited for my wife. Granted, I am a Ford fan. However, my wife is not. She is bourgie as hell. She was talking Porsche Macan (yeah right), Audi Q5/7, Volvo XC60, etc. I told her she had to at least go look at the new Explorer. We left with one. It has EVERYTHING. Heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, middle row captains chairs, huge space in rear, automatic everything, massive sunroof, and on and on. It’s ridiculous. We couldn’t be happier. It has a wireless charger for your iPhone. It has USB-C fast charger ports, it’s, yeah I said it before, ridiculous. I’m so glad I talked her into a Ford. Plus, I get to tell her, “I told you so”, so it’s priceless.

The scoring system is just crap. 5 out of 10 for acceleration? It's a large suv that does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, that's faster than 90% of every other car on the road.

Yeah but that's just average for Dougie who likes beefy speedy cars. Sure 5.2 seconds is pretty speedy compared to most everything else, but In the world of performance-ish cars 5.2 seconds is just respectable. It's like if picky chicks scored guys based on height 6 feet would be 5/10 even if you're taller than most other guys.

I believe Ford still holds on to some Land Rover patents. Ford was also heavily involved in the redesign of the Range Rover products. Hence,the aluminum body, supercharged Coyote V8, and 3.0L eco diesel V6

T 15 I’ve been saying this for years but the Ford Fanboys get so defensive about the JLR ownership that ended in 2008 it’s is now 2020 and Ford might as well merge back with them, The Explorer & Aviator have HEAVY Range Rover Sport & Discovery design cues everywhere & Lincoln just won’t give Jaguar their grille back. I’m curious onto what “intellectual designs / properties” Ford owns from JLR but at least its Reliable imitation at its best.. wishing Lincoln would go back to their own signature Waterfall grille versus this “intellectual design from JLR” crap.

Old explorer is 100% better on inside ( unless your a base model old explorer than nevermind ). I went to test drive a ST at my local ford dealer and I did not find the interior very appealing at all, in design or comfort. It is also very loud compared to its competitors in its price range, definitely not worth $60,000 I say $48,000 at most.

Awful, awful. Subaru did a good job with their 11.5 inch screen in the new Outback/legacy; it's built in and looks like it's part of the car and not an after thought. That's how it should be done. *PS can't get past how ugly it is. So bad I couldn't even finish the video.

12:22 there are two USB ports right there. One is a type A the other is a type C. Which is actually really cool that Ford put a type C because a lot of new phones and laptops are starting to use it.

0:12 The last gen explorer came out in 2011. There was a 2013 and 2016 facelift, though, with the introduction of a sport trim in 2012 for 2013 model year.

The massage is on driver AND front passenger seats. Both are adjustable from either the infotainment screen or the knobs on the side of the seat (initiate it by pressing the button in the center of the cross pattern on the side of the seat).
