Its insane that this billion dollar corporation crashed for 3 days just because of a sudden increase in players

This event was nuts, it really showed just how terrible Roblox servers are. It's also comedic how the servers went down again this year just a week before the 2 year anniversary of the burrito incident.

2021? God damn, it’s been a while. I remember this so well too! There was also a way to see the homepage during the outage, and it was so weird seeing everything blank and refusing to load. What a sight to see.

I can’t be the only person who found it pretty difficult to accept that 2021 was two years ago. Still felt like last year, or months ago.

I was a victim of this outage. I still find this outage admiring, insane, and peculiar how they crashed because of an increase of players. That kind of issue can be fixed pretty quickly. A memory I had was that people, including me were making jokes. I did touch grass for all those three days, though.

NO WAY IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS?! WHAT. Dude I remember this happened yesterday, I can still remember trying to play Roblox for hours whilst this outage was happening, time is flying so damn fast.

Isn't it a little sad how one of the most important events on Roblox is their servers dying?

9:07 Basically, they were implementing a system that only loads the pages players are using on the server, it was for optimization but did the opposite: the server was not being able to handle loading that much websites at the same time and then broke. Monitoring systems would help them a lot

What i miss from this incident is that pretty much every community from adopt me to fighting games had their own copy pastas, remember this one from GPO that said "its been 3 days without gpo, I've been trying to soru dash to my classes and eat the magu at the cafeteria that the teachers told me was just an apple"

It was crazy. The survivors were patient people.

in october 28, 2021. roblox was broken for 3 days, i was so irritated, annoyed and frustrated. until finally... it worked again

the shutdown itself wasnt even crazy. it was the stuff people were posting like "6 hours without adopt me im convulsing".

I don't think I'm right but my guess as to why it's called the burrito incident is because the chipotle event was taking place and players spiked, adding salt to the wound was that it was nearling halloween, so people were trying to get their halloween event rewards fast, leading to the servers being overwhelmed crashing with severe damage

i still have memories of this incident. the memory is so clear, and i will never forget it. all i remember of it is being on a laptop, finding the "Making things more awesome" status. i saw it on the first day, and i never knew it was because of the chipotle event.

I remember when this happened. I feel like it was not long ago when this happened, I can't believe it was in 2021. But it was sort of a refresher from ROBLOX, playing Minecraft and Gmod with the boys was actually quite nice.

As a victim of many during the outage, this feels nostalgic an cool as the same time, this made me feel worried of my acc data being removed by chance, and I was happy I experienced a huge part of Roblox history.

As someone who was a new roblox player at the time (i joined February 2021) and i had no roblox messages or twitter or anything like that at the time so i was completely left in the dark i remember being icredibly disappointed as roblox was basically the only thing i did at the time. It made me see how lucky i really was to play roblox. Thanks for reading my experience through this outage and have a nice day.

I was part of this event, I never knew what was going on, why roblox was down, I was scared I may have been banned or something else, but now I know what happened, this will truly stay in roblox history, forever.

I remember that day like yesterday. At the time, I thought Roblox was gonna be gone forever. It took 3 days for Roblox to come back. It was probably the WORST 3 days of my life, since I was soo bored without Roblox.

This was wild! It's was like something that people like us have experienced will never be forgotten. It'll leave a lasting impact on Roblox but I don’t think it’s on the level of the April fools incident…

A note that could have been added for day 2, at the beginning of day 2 when low amounts of users were able to join games, data store was totally broken so sadly many people corrupted their data file in their games

I had missed this event, as I was on vacation, so I actually am happy I didn't suffer this pain!

I remember this day vividly, alot of cool halloween updates that i missed, most devs extended the events for a while after the crash

Turns out: one of the servers responsible for the code had experienced a critical error, which caused the code to snap. All of the code had snapped due to the server, so they had to re-write the entire code again.

This event took place legitimately on my birthday, me and my friends were gonna hop on and do a gaming session, but then Roblox shut down. We were all devastated but I was the most. RIP...

people loosing their minds and acting like 3 days without 1 singular game is just depressing there are so many other games to play then roblox, i can understand being a bit annoyed but instead millions of people were reacting extremely hard don't get me wrong, i like playing roblox (especially obbies), but like i wouldn't even keep count of the years if roblox went down for 2 weeks 💀

I remember experiencing this, I actually was at my friend's house when it happened, and I was one of the last people still playing and I remember everyone looked like noobs and chat didn't exist. Pretty hilarious as this happened exactly a week ago when blox fruits reached a record high amount of players, and the servers crashed for about the entire day even the infamous maintenance screen was put up again

Its so sad that the biggest outage in roblox history happened when it did. I remember being excited to play with my friends and then the biggest outage in roblox history occurred. I remember this, I was 13 years old when I was getting a Burito, but then my whole Roblox crashed. Later than I knew, I couldn't play video games for 3 days which I was so bored. I was looking after hour by hour to see if it would come on again, but then it didn't.

Man, I remember this. My friends and I had to resort to playing Minecraft and Among Us (when it was popular) since we had nothing else to do. Truly an incident of the century

I remember my region being one of the first to return to Roblox, and it felt so weird because all of the top games on Roblox, such as Brookehaven only had between 10-60 players online.

Denial-roblox didn’t think anything would go wrong and it was just a standard think Anger-roblox immediately put out roblox to a few people which was most likely unstable yet to tumbled down to more chaos Depression- people silently waited they knew all they could do was wait Bargain- people were begging and pleading that roblox would comeback online soon (or at least from Twitter/KZfaq) Acceptance- roblox finally returned and things were back to normal tbh that outage was pretty fun finally got rid of my roblox addiction so I could focus on school and for the first time I p,ayes something else either than roblox which was pretty fun so I think this was more of a blessing than a curse

I remember playing when the outage started, as it progressed, the system started spamming chat filter errors, and assets and scripts failed to load. An hour later, the servers gave in, and crashed, and the console reported multiple fatal errors, then crashed.

I remember being in 4th grade and my friends and I, we were talking about the outage and we were trying to figure out how it was caused. Still to this day I remember everyday of it.

I remember being on the website when that happened. For a few minutes I tried refreshing the page until Roblox actually loaded one game.. and that game was Epic Minigames. I was so glad. I stayed in that server for hours but then ended up leaving since I had to go to bed. The next day I couldn't play and had to wait. But still, I played Roblox during an outage which was really cool being like the only one on the website. 🙃

I can't believe that was over two years ago.The over-simplified version of why it went down was because they enabled a new feature to improve players performance after the glitches before the outage. However, this essentially broke the servers and they could not get it running again for over 3 days, most likely because they had to fix the code and stuff.

I remember trying to play roblox during this outage and games that usually had tens of thousands of players had no more than 50 players, and the games would barely work

Fun fact: When Roblox was fixing its outage and it was all done being fixed some people got to play again others had to wait because they were releasing it in groups I was one of the first mobile players to get back on Most of the games were empty but a few of my friends were on. It was hell and happy two years to the great Roblox outage.

This even was insane, and I was 9 playing the game wondering why I wasn't able to play my game. Turns out the servers crashed and I didn't know why it happened. Those three days were scary but also fun. On Halloween I went to Bronx Zoo and it was VERY FUN, I felt like it was 2016 all over again, but now I know why and realized how I felt that day.

The fateful day where Roblox players around the world were forced to touch grass Some users died instantaneously or soon after contacting grass, many users would not be able to recover from the horror of touching grass This is the most tragic day in Roblox history, it shall be recorded in the history books as the "Day of going Outside"

I remember seeing this outage take place. Even the Halloween event at my school didn't take my mind off Roblox. Damn, it was a very crazy and confusing 4 days.

i dont know why but ive got a hunch that roblox is intentionally making bad updates just to avoid another website crash(they lose players whenever a bad update arrives, i think)

i remember having a tooth removed on the day the outage happened, and i tried playing super bomb survival, but the textures were gone, tbe stats were deleted, and the movement wasnt working right the worst thing of all, it was 2 days after my birthday, right as i got my first computer and it was the most memorable event ive ever had
