Ford's Bronco Raptor is the craziest Bronco, but it's not quite the same kind of crazy as a Wrangler 392. For the baddest edition of the Bronco, Ford used the same playbook as the F-150 Raptor: wider is better. The body gets massive fender flares, ginormous 37-inch tires, and, of course, tons of Raptor graphics. Sadly there wasn't room under the hood for the F-150's engine so the engineers whipped up a new turbo V6 for Braptor duty. Is the resulting Bronco the ultimate off-road warrior? Or the ultimate bro-themed commuter car? Perhaps a bit of both...

I have 'limited knowledge'/' no desire' for this category of vehicle. Notwithstanding, I have noticed Bronco Raptor has presence, stands out.

The Black Diamond trim is the best Bronco. Gets you the rear locker, under armor, good tires, marine vinyl seats, with manual transmission for around $41k. Half the price of the Raptor and will handle anything 90% of owners would encounter.

I agree with you the fender flares are cool and I think maybe a lot of people don't realize the real purpose of this vehicle is and what is was intended for

@@Kanti12311 definitely it's a toy, my choice of toy is something like BRZ, Miata, C7 Corvette in terms of cars as I would actually end up playing with them. For off-roads, I like mountain bikes.

For the kind of monstrosity that it is, it sure drives pretty good. I'd take the regular Bronco over this but I'm glad Ford made a bonkers version for those that want it.

The bronco Raptor is a great off-road vehicle. I looked at one at my local Ford dealership but they wanted $50,000 more than MSRP so I said no thank you. It was more than what I paid for my 2022 F-450 Platinum lol

@@yakonyakojennings8056 Jeeps are not made by Ford. They're made by the Chrysler Dodge corporation. I would never buy a Toyota unless I wanted something with a 10-year-old body and 20-year-old technology. I have owned multiple Fords and I've never had any problems with them. 🙂

Hello Alex, you're right about the position of the radar, the windscreen is the best position for this. It also applies to every car whose radar sensors are placed anywhere around the front bumper.

Very very thorough.. having had an order in for a Bronco Raptor the minute the order bank opened on March 8th, I’ve watched every KZfaq made on it. You’d think everything would have been disclosed by now. You actually managed to uncover a few things no one else did. Good job. Only one mistake I caught: The tires are not mud terrain.. they are 37 x12.50x 17 all terrain BFG KO2’s. I’ll excuse you for that.😂. I’m told I’m to get my build date soon for my Iconic Silver “Braptor”. Looking forward to it in its first Upper Peninsula of Michigan winter.

The rubbery buttons on the steering wheel looks like they’ll puncture after a while (meaning 7+ years out).

Yea I had rubber buttons on a car I had and the rubber started peeling like shedding I don’t know if it was from my line of work me having grease on my hands or what but rubber buttons suck and what ever symbol that’s on the rubber buttons will eventually fade off the button

I don't have the money to buy a Bronco Raptor. But I was thinking of renting one on Turo to go West and do some off-roading and to experience it. But when I sat inside of it, it seemed small. I'm 6'2". I have a Rav4 and was surprised that my Rav4 seemed to have more interior space and leg room and doubly surprised when I learned the Bronco is 11 inches longer than a Rav4. So where did that space go? The Bronco cargo capacity is 33.5 and 73 Cubic feet with the seats up and down respectively while the Rav4 is 37.6 and 69.8 Cubic feet. The front and rear leg room in the Bronco are 43.1" and 36.3" respectively while the Rav4 is 41" and 37.8". So is all the length in the hood and engine bay? Or do the bumpers add that much length? All this to say is that we might just rent the Bronco for the day instead of be uncomfortable for the entire roadtrip with less space in the vehicle.

People are going to be swapping that engine in the regular bronco.Slam it to the ground with sport suspension with the six TT and you have a bronco lightning. The raptor gets very tiering on the road loud and 160 feet to stop 😳 your going to cook the brakes in normal city driving 😉 with those 150lbs wheel/tires 🤦🏻‍♂️ which 90% will never se dirt roads yet alone off-roading 😂🤣😂 Awesome job Alex with your reviews keep up the great Joni bud. They 2023 most likely will have price increases. Ford complain about dealer “changing” the prices yet they have been doing it them selves on existing orders. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I don’t think hoss 3.0 is the same as raptor for 2023 though? It’s still regular Sasquatch width and no special Dana 50 etc.

I'm a Ford guy it would be wrong to jump to conclusions immediately because of brand affiliation without weighing all the options. I think the Wrangler has a more appropriate dimension while the Bronco is somewhat squished in length wise. It depends on what I want to use the vehicle for, but then the Bronco has a better updated instrument clusters and infotainment placement. 😖🤔

The Raptor looks amazing for high speed Baja type runs. But my area offers more rock crawling and I love a V8 soundtrack so I'd go with the 392.

Between those 2 choices? Overall the Bronco Raptor looks better, but a big V8 has its appeal. Ultimately I'd choose something else, I don't need off-road ability. AWD crossover or even AWD minivan is more for me. 🙂☕ PS that doesn't mean if someone wants to give me one I'd refuse.

I bought a 392 because in Colorado the size of the BRaptor is just to unwieldy. That thing is huge. A 392 on the other hand, still fits down tight rocky trails and is an excellent crawler. The Jeep sound system is also pretty awesome IMO, but I’ve never heard the Broncos system. Last, coming from AMG G63, the sound and fury of a V8 is something that can be enjoyed everywhere.

A serious off roader, to be sure. But what about cost of ownership? Premium gas only? Oil changes and brakes? The tires alone are through the roof in cost. I know, I know... Pay to play. But damn.

I don’t think it would be much more expensive to own than other vehicles that get similar gas mileage. It’s still a Ford, so you’re not paying European car repair costs.

When is Ford going to make a fully non-removable body-colored top of the roof with a sunroof like the Wrangler? I thought this was supposed to happen for the 2023 MY Broncos. I guess that's not happening until the Broncos mid-cycle refresh model years next year.

Nice look and concept. Not for me though, I can't drag my disabled body into the seat, and the wallet is pretty empty. Even so, the probable lack of availability means lots of others won't be getting one either.

@@weirdshibainu A CPO 2016 G550 with only 30K miles costs about 87K, if you drop the CPO you can get one around $78K. Not much repair expected at that age and mileage. My 2014 W212 with 100K miles is still going strong.

Unlike the Wrangler 392, the Bronco raptor makes ZERO SENSE. Here is WHY..... the Wrangler retains all the proper offroading capabilities while also giving something for drag racing fun. Covering 0 to 60 in low 4s in a Wrangler is just insane. Because really, you don't need all that power JUST to go climbing rocks. let's be honest. Now the bronco raptor.... It's a LOUSY drag racer. 0 to 60 in the 6s? Are. You. Serious?? So they built a "raptor" so you can "zoom" to 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds? (5.6 if you're C&D) It's not fast. And if all you wanna do is go offroading you don't need the raptor. So who the eff is the bronco raptor for? Seriously dumb!!

@@ALMX5DP you mean the one where he spends the first half of the video orgasming about how good it is on dirt roads? then spends the other half driving over sidewalks, curbs, and riding on dirt shoulders? yeah NO, I'll pass on his opinion. I don't really take anything that reviewers say as the gold standard, especially Cammisa's. I value their expert feedback if given in a factual manner but Cammisa is notoriously biased and fanboyish in his approach. Never been a big fan of Jason. Alex on the other hand, I've followed Alex on Autos since the early days. He has literally swayed me to buy a car or avoid a car on occasion. And have not regretted listening to him. I'm just personally not a fan of the bronco raptor. Again, the raptor version I think missed the mark.

@@ALMX5DP Yes and I have little doubt that in a vacuum the Bronco is a fun vehicle. but my real point is, I feel like the non raptor bronco is still just as good in the environment where they're testing them. since the raptor isn't all that much differentiated in offroading compared to the other trims, that begs the question what good is a "raptor" if not for insane straight line performance. the jeep got it right, just my 2 cents.
