I'm surprised he didn't mention the fact that the rear window shades are actually the same size as the windows. In the Highlander, there's a gap on both ends of the sunshade that lets unshaded light in, where this car doesn't have that gap. Edit: 15:44 for reference

Purchased mine in October '22, and just used my remote parking for the first time two weeks ago. I was very glad to have it. Cars on either side of me were parked too close to open my doors, and I backed in near some bushes and couldn't open the liftgate. I never expected to use it, so it was not a factor in my buying decision, but without that feature I would have needed to go into the restaurant to try to find the owner of one of the cars parked next to me.

Isn't that like how every Asian car brand developed over the years? Honda went from making the little City (literally the name is the Honda City) to making the NSX, same thing with Toyota with the LFA. Korea is lacking Supercars and they have the ability to make one, just no Electric version pls EDIT - I think everyone is overrating these Korean brands too much, more than JDM boys overrating their Supras. In Korea, many parking lots/spaces are very small. In shopping mall lots, it's almost impossible to open car doors enough to get in and out comfortably. I dinged many a nice car with my 97 Sonata once upon a time. This is likely why the remote fwd/Rev feature was created.

The fact that Doug and other reviewers literally are handed these vehicles to review on a silver platter directly from the manufacturers, usually have them for multiple days, and *_still_* can't be bothered to make a short phone call before posting one of these reviews to at least ask if some of the problems they've had with the car aren't just a matter of "user error" is honestly so disappointing, and frustrating to me. To have easy access to actual people involved in development and testing of a vehicle and at no point give them a call to ensure that your review of their vehicle is as objective as possible and is based on *facts* instead of a misunderstanding or lack of knowledge is just shameful to me. If these kinds of mistakes were less common, or if they were about more minor aspects of the cars (like glitchy functionality when customizing the UI theme/graphics or something) then I wouldn't mind so much, but in the past he's also falsely claimed that the different drive modes didn't change much, but that in reality had been significantly improved compared to the outgoing model and actually did cause significant changes in the new version that he was reviewing.

With Hyundai/Kia you can't mess around. You have to do your maintenance and keep proof of everything. It's a different engine from the V6 in the Telluride/Palisade. And yes, Kias and Hyundais do not like dirty engine oil. I change my oil every 4k miles. Their engines are notorious for eating motor oil and most people have no idea until the crank locks up and it's grenaded. I check that dipstick once a week minimum. So far 8k miles and the 2.0L isn't burning oil according to the level.

I feel like Hyundai is paying you quite a bit to provide everyone a positive outlook on their vehicles. Considering the first thing you said about them isn’t necessarily true. They aren’t exactly the top competitors in their competition of utility vehicles. In fact, when most people consider a 3 row SUV, most people already know the prior generation of Palisade had electrical and transmission issues. The people who buy them are suckers that were sucked in by the design not the reliability. Most people turn elsewhere for a more efficient and reliable choice.

I don’t know about other counties, but in the US the reason these are still considered mid-size is the competitions models from the 1990s. For example, the old Ford explorer, like the Saleen he reviewed, was considered a mid-size, while a Chevy Tahoe would be full size. Since Ford still considers the Explorer midsize, even though it’s huge compared to an old one, these get cross shopped with them.
