Back with a refreshed interior and some new exterior highlights, the 2023 Lincoln Corsair brings a number of new features to the new model. You'll find it with either 2.0L turbocharged engine in the base and Reserve trims or 2.5L plugin hybrid in the Grand Touring.
On the outside you'll find a nicer front end and available adaptive suspension, while the inside brings Lincoln's newer Sync 4 media screen that features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with an advanced voice assistant.

Agree that this is a fantastic vehicle. Bought a new 2023 AWD loaded (Collection III) and my first Lincoln. The interior is stunning, and the Revel sound system is amazing. Overall, a very enjoyable and comfortable ride - great work Ford/Lincoln!

@@CarsWithSteve I traded in a 2014 Lexus GS350. Also a great overall vehicle. This Lincoln seems on par with a Lexus or Audi in terms of overall upscale feel. Excellent ride quality on the 19 inch Michelin tires.

This is the best review I've seen of this car so far (and I watched a lot of them). Very detailed and the production is top notch. I don't know how you do it but it seems like your voice has been recorded in a studio ! Personally, I think the 2022 is a better deal right now unless you really want the front styling. The infotainment is smaller but way more responsible. Also, you have physical buttons for most functions.

Thanks so much Jean-Francois! I've gotten pretty good at audio cleanup after I record and only took 3 years to figure it out! Haha You could get a 2022 at better pricing for sure. A few people have mentioned missing the climate controls so the price and that feature would be a draw if you can still find a dealer with one in stock. I've been using Ford/Lincoln for reviews for a while so I'm used to the new climate voice controls but it takes some getting used to

I’d say your audio is TOO cleaned up and divorced from the environment. I’d back it off a bit. If you can keep those solid dynamics of your voice that your mic picks up, that would be great…don’t change that, but I’d add in a bit more environment. Alternatively you could record separately some audio at the same time and sync it up with your vocals and totally control how much ambient noise makes it in. I love your up front and centre vocals, but I also feel totally divorced from what you are doing at any given time.

What a nice and calm review. Question: how is acceleration during highway merging or passing with the PHEV? I ask as this would be my wife’s car and her safety matters to me.

Thanks Jack! I found that driving the hybrid was great. It has a surprising amount of power and handles well on the highway. More than enough power if she drops her foot to pass people and it has some neat tech available like lane change assist.. When you want to change lanes you can use the turn stick to indicate left or right and as long as no one is in your blind spot it will safely merge into that lane!

That's exciting! There was a recall on the early 2022 plugin models with a change of the active grille shutter to address the issue, otherwise I haven't seen many owners complaining in any forums about the Corsair or the previous generation MKC.

Thanks! They're very different rides.. The Explorer hybrid in North America is a traditional hybrid meant more for improved fuel economy vs the Corsair is a plugin with actual electric miles so you may not use much gas at all depending on your driving habits. Without adding on any options the Explorer Limited Hybrid and Corsair Grand Touring are almost priced pretty similarly too. It would come down to space requirements and towing needs. 5 seats max in the Corsair vs 7 in the Explorer, nicer interior in the Corsair along with newer tech. If it was a choice between the Explorer Hybrid and Corsair Grand Touring.. the Corsair would be at the top of the list since I only need space for 2 people

Great review! I drive less than 20 miles a week average (work from home. Market around corner, etc.). I wanted a hybrid, but was told I'm not a good candidate. But would a plug-in be an option (of course, there will be times where I'll head out of town and drive more)? Also, when you say "bending" headlights, does it offer cornering? Wish that Lincoln would add a rear ventilated seats option. Climate control back there would be nice too! Especially for those of us who live in hot climates. Miss the buttons/knobs for a/c and music :( Thank you again!

Thanks! A traditional hybrid could work for a 20 mile commute for improved fuel economy and the plugin would let you ride to and from pretty much just in electric mode depending on how heavy your foot is ;) The bending lights are interesting in the Lincoln lineup, the focus of the LED lights changes as you turn the wheel left/right. So it'll "bend" left/right but won't bend up/down. The Navigator is the only Lincoln with 2nd row ventilated right now but it would be nice for 2nd row across the board. The physical buttons for climate were nice but the voice command prompt on the steering wheel lets you change climate, music sources/stations, navigate etc. It's a really great system once you get the hang of it

@@CarsWithSteve Wow! Thank you so much for taking time to reply! So many journalists don't bother. I sincerely appreciate it so much. Thank you for explaining how the headlights work. Someone had mentioned 'crystal headlamps' that corner as an option but I can't find anything on it. I get what you're saying about using voice command, but I still like the buttons and toggles. Especially considering that voice to text on my phone rarely gets it right🤣

You're welcome! There are standard LED headlamps in the lower packages of each trim level but the higher packages have these jewelled lamps instead with the dynamic bending. I didn't test the map while driving but you could always use the voice command prompt to choose a destination instead..

Great review! I almost bought a ‘23 Reserve II, but sadly they deleted the subwoofer, and without it, the speakers sound poorer than my base version Honda speakers. It’s a shame you have to go $10k up to get the Revel speakers and can’t just add that option alone.

The Cali rebate is baked into that price ($2k), along with 6 year anticipated gas savings ($4,800) but that doesn't cover electricity rates or supercharging.. So after adding in federal rebate for RWD ($3,750) and destination ($1,390) and then assuming you live outside of Cali and taking out anticipated fuel savings you're closer to $38k. A good price for an EV for sure but there are people who still want gas/hybrid tech instead

Tesla design is stale. Unless you're an aficionado, it's difficult to distinguish between a new Tesla and 10-year-old Tesla. Plus, Tesla owners have to deal with the whole Elon Musk cult identity that has to be explained away all the time. We had a sudden snowstorm a few years ago, and hundreds of drivers were stranded in their vehicles on Route 95 (Virginia) for more than 24 hours... no food, no fuel. Emergency road service could bring containers of gasoline, but they couldn't bring containers of electricity. Tesla vehicles used to be cool. Now they're just stale. Even if you don't want PHEV, there are better EV options... without the taint of Musk's persona.
