Hmm yes, the joke update consisting of just retextures and 2 features with god-awful coding (the grappling hook and floataters) that do not fit into balance or progression at all Is apparently higher effort than the most interesting structure we've gotten in years, and some really fun items like wind charges and the mace.. The community gets shafted every minecraft live to only getting one small mob addition, while programing said mobs into the game as a group with a team like theirs would take a month flat. And you're gonna call people who want fun things in videogames. Which already are programmed. Entitled? You're why games aren't fun, and communities aren't fun to talk to anymore. Goodness sakes.

Well it is really glitchy, like game breaking bugs. And all the other snapshots were really polished so at least that's a thing but I agree if they got a new dimension and a grappling hook they could add that to the base game

Microsoft. If the game changes drastically, the playerbase might get huffy and quit. There goes sales. So Microsoft has a heavy hand on major releases. But April Fools? They…don’t really care. So all of the energy goes there. It’s actually kinda sad when you think about it. Because it’s when Microsoft obtained the company that things slowed down considerably

To those commentors that wonder why the official updates are "smaller", here's mostly why. The april fools updates: 1. Don't need parity 2. No bug fixes required 3. No performance considerations 4. No need for documentation or adhoc tasks to add a feature in, april fools updates need only minimal quality checks 5. No future commitments (they can add a feature in without considering its future implications or any feature redevelopment) 6. No balancing required. 7. No need for cross-platform (and cross-version) development. All the mojang devs are talented individuals, but they would naturally be held back with deliberating and re-deliberating the following considerations every update. To a point where for consistency purposes, they need to limit what they can do every update or else it will always be set backed and delayed. The april fools updates are mostly quantity driven, made to show the dev's creativity and idea spaghetti. The official updates are quality driven, purposely limited to make sure the new features are deliverable with equal quality to all platforms, so most of the production time is spent on the quality than the actual amount of new features added.

The flotato block and grappling hook are so cool. I really hope mojang introduces these items in the base game in the future. Unfortunately, they seem to put more effort on an April fools update, that only happens 1 time per year, than an actual update. This update basically added everything the community wanted, like a new dimension, a new boss and even the frying table, which is kinda sad when you consider that they won't add as much features on 1.21

Remember guys. Stuff that has been in past april fools updates have been added in base game before. That includes the coal block, horses, and more. Meaning we could get the grappling hook or the air parkour blocks in the real game. But whats more likely is just the flotater and nothing else.

No hate, I liked the video, but i will take you up on your offer of sharing my thoughts and im going to say 10 points in deffence of mojang: 1. No cross platform (the update was only avaliable on java edition, there would be alot more code needed for it to be implemented to bedrock) 2. No bug fixes (if something buggy it's not nearly as important that it's fixed compared to a regular update because its just for April fools) 3. No performance considerations (same with the bug fixes, it's just not as important for everything to work 100% smoothly) 4. No future implications (they can add things without the any effect on future updates) 5. They don't need to balance the new items (stuff like the floatater, the lashing potato, and the floatato block would be too op for the base game to implement as is) 6. Quantity over quality (it was kinda said in some of the prevous points, but the item/blocks/mobs added on april fools are made with lower quality which lets them add more stuff) 7. Made in free time (most of the April fools updates are made in the employees free time as apposed to when their actually working) 8. Reused assets (the arena is the bastion and the boss is the slime. Its kinda easy to see when you're playing but I just though I'd point it out) 9. Play tested (only about 3% of the update was play tested, alot more time would have to be put into every actual update) 10. Influence on the game (Microsoft and mojang probably don't want to change to game too much too fast for fear of pushing away players, anything too big like a new dimension added rashely could ruin the game for people if not added properly) There's probably more points i forgot to mention but I feel like 10 points are enough. again no hate to your channel, I really liked your video I just thought I'd share some thoughts of my own on why I think all the hate mojangs getting is a bit unfair
