What's so interesting is this topic can be quite divisive amongst riders in the mountain biking scene today. 27.5 wheels are seen as being the more agile / flickable option catering to both smaller riders as well as "senders." 29 wheels are seen as the faster more stable option for bigger riders as well as hard charging racers. Wendy is going to try to get to the bottom of which wheel is best in today's video. Let's see what she comes up with!

Great comparison. Still stick to my 26” Merida hardtail, because a made an awesome deal and it fits my body perfectly. Even if there are better things out there, why should you switch when you are happy? Also applies to a marriage 😊

27.5 is much better, rolls faster, looks better and is generally cheaper.

29 looks goofy on a small bike but 26 and 27.5 look equally goofy on a big bike, personally I'm faster and more in comfort on a 29 but absolutely right about the weight, that's my main issue with 29 setups

To me the 27.5 feels more playful and quicker to maneuver around the tight, technical switchbacks. The 29er truly feels like a tractor rolling over chunky stuff and it is a different feeling. Each has strengths that could be applied differently on separate trails. I like both and have both but I prefer the 27.5 playfulness unless I am traversing really chunky trail.

As close as the results were between the 2 I dont think the Mullet will really show much. I really think like many things, its a fad.

I have a 29er but my main bike is still a 26er. 2013 Devinci Dexter. Split pivot works great.

I'm still riding an old 26er, looking for a replacement. I rented different 29ers a couple of times, and they didn't convince me. They feel so heavy; it's like riding a truck. After watching many comparison videos, I think 27.5" would bring me more joy. But it's almost impossible to find a rental with 27.5 trail/all-mountain/enduro bikes, so I will probably end up buying without trying, and that scares me. 😕

Totally understandable. Only you can make that call! Both 29 and 27.5 are great, but there will likely be a learning curve no matter which way you go.

I went from 26 to 27.5 after demoing several 29ers and 27.5ers. Whippy feel and more maneuverable. Slightly slower but not much.

Why dont you guys offer a Large Siskiu T8 27.5 with a + size tire? I'm 6'2 and the medium would be to small. I love my 27.5 + hard tail.

27.5+ although a very cool tire denomination, is uncommon in the industry. Where it does exist in decent numbers is indeed on hardtails.

I really enjoy the 29" on my N8E because it is like a truck, but love the agility of the 2.7" on my T7. I am considering an upgrade to the T9 rather than the N9, because I want to stay with 27.5" wheels.

I come from bmx and riding 20” bikes, I also ride a specialized chisel 29” bike hard tail. A 27.5 full suspension would be amazing for a middle bike for fun stuff

fun fact: 27.5 + has nearly the same outer diameter as a 29. So in terms of rollover advantage that would be nearly a wash.

That's more or less where our Collosus sits. The siskiu T is a trail bike, and doensn't need to push into that enduro realm.
