There are several reasons why this may have been the case. One possibility is that BMW South Africa may have felt that there was not enough demand for a station wagon in the local market at the time. Another reason could be that importing the E30 Touring model would have been prohibitively expensive due to South Africa's import duties and taxes. Additionally, BMW South Africa may have decided to focus on other models that were more popular and profitable in the local market, such as the 3 Series sedan and the 5 Series. The company may have also decided to prioritize the production of right-hand drive models for countries such as the United Kingdom, where the Touring model was more popular.

Excellent work done, I can't fault one bit on the work done, the attention to detail is just immaculate... and as always love the educational info on vechiles, please keep it up... PS: Good choice not to stick with the white interior... (it would be like that bra with white shoes in the club... No no no no 🤣) and with plans to be using the car often I think the choice made was definitely the way to go... and again shows that when Chicanos does something, its not just about the look, but about the purpose as well... ❤

I prefer both fitment and tuck Any colour looks good on an E30 but I prefer white Interior I prefer black

😂😂 Maybe the reason why the E30 wagons or even the e34 tourings were never offered here was because most of us associated wagons with hearse's and bmw South Africa wasn't ready to be part of that. Who knows

Slmz Mr Moosa, Once again good work on the build. On Monday morning i seen a black e30 WAGON with a CA number plate in fordburg. This car is looking fire and the colour i was going to go with is on point that colour is on point over sick maybe the seats should of had some red in it with the same design. Masha Allah build.

A e30 pillerless wasnt deemed a need in sa because of demand and safety issues. Thats why they build the convertable with the piller for safety purposes.

I can answer the station wagon Q for u. According to bmw sa, the request for station wagons were not big in South Africa. They eventually tried with the e46 and e39 and while they sold a few, was not as much as they would have liked. Hence they decided to not do it again. Not sure on numbers but that's the reason they gave. Makes sense if u think about it, but whether it's true or not, that's another question You should start a subscriber wall in the show room where you paste up images subscribers builds and their names. You knw, personalize the interaction abit. Would be cool to see on a wall how the channel grows. Just a suggestion. I will send u image of my e46 330i touring and my 2 mk1 2door golfs😊

Beautiful car... to answer one question though about station wagons in the country. According to market research, station wagons were not popular in South Africa because of preference and price. South africans prefered hot hatchbacks and sedans and thats why till today many car manufacturers dont bring station wagons here, you'll notice with the newer models too. Overseas you get a station wagon golf7, M5, RS8 etc but not us

Well i feel like you left the history of the e30 build... The e30 wasnt a planned build by bmw.. An employee from bmw by the name of Max Reisbock.. He had a e30 but for touring purposes with his family it couldn't load alot of things so built 1 from a 4 door e30. He had no drawing no blue prints but all this dream was in his head. Took about 6 months to build. When its done he drove it to bmw work and his bosses were amazed and finally had it in production in limited nuumber. No 1 know the story of Max the man who really built the e30 touring. He never really got the credit..

I am not sure, but I think it was the limited market size so they just went 2dr, 4dr and Baur cabriolet. But a few guys have imported from the the UK I just think that South Africa was not ready for those specks back in the 80’s and 90’s plus the importing of cars in the 80’s was a problem cause of apartheid
