Yes it was vastly underpowered for a "Next Gen" system. As good as CD32 was, It was on the same level as the Sega Mega CD. And even that had superior sprite scaling. Calling the CD32 a Playstation competitor was literally like calling the Mega CD a rival to the Playstation. Even the 32X had vastly superior 3D, let alone the PS1.

@@mr.y.mysterious.video1 It works well on Batman on the Mega CD. I think the SFX2 chip enabled sprite scaling on Yoshi's Island, but yeh it didn't have hardware sprite scaling without extra chips. Also I read the Neo Geo could only shrink sprites, not inflate them.

Problem with the cd32 was that the PlayStation and Saturn were just around the corner and we're leaps and bounds more powerful. The 3DO is out but it was $400 more expensive. Still if you just had to have a CD the Sega CD could be had for around $50 cheaper after including the cost of the base unit. Commodore just wasn't spending enough on r&d. Either because they didn't have it or because they thought they could just repackage older hardware.

Was PGA European Tour ever released for free after Amiga was discontinued? Shame about Banshee and many others being lost (as sanctioned downloads) when Back to the Roots went down. I got into amiga too late...

Pinball Illusions was BY FAR better than the Fantasy ! ATR should be highter imo, it's a really really good game for this period Shadow Fighter is excellent but got fucked by 2 buttons controller ... Amiga AGA (1200 or CD32) has the best version of all, especially for the colors palette damn, where is Flight for the Amazon Queen game ??? :(

Always thought it was just used by developers to make a quick quid on games they’d already made. Whack some CD quality sound on them and send them back out. I could be wrong, as I only ever played one back in the day, very briefly, but even then, saw it as a pointless system. Maybe if it’d had a longer life, developers would have come up with some impressive new games.

Odd that you stopped at "30" when you could have gone for the obvious "32 Best Amiga CD32 games"

Fire and Ice is not the same, the original didn't have the parallax scrolling. It's a really hard game though once you get past the Ice stage....brilliant though, love the music.

The CD32 was such a wasted opportunity! Commodore basically did what Amstrad did with the GX4000 & just released old hardware boxed as a console

True that, i dont know what they were thinking of

Not the GX4000 I have one still in box. Never got it out to play for some reason.

Not at all, it was marketed for people who wanted an Amiga but just for games. Along with enhanced cd audio, multi-button controller and no disk swapping things people had high on their wish lists for, not wasted at all, it just happened Commodore were going under regardless, otherwise it would have complimented the computer range well.

The GX4000 was an 8bit machine like the C64GS. The CD32 was a top notch 32bit CD system at the time.

I know we are all entitled to our opinion, but i am amazed gaming got too where we are now...... Because my god there was some crap about lol. From consoles as bad as the Jaguar, Mega CD, 3D0, CDi....... and this, should have been called the Amiga Platform 32. There were some shocking games too. I think Cannon Fodder and Alien Breed 3D were the only games worth having on this system, which is 2 more than any of the others mentioned.

You gotta think most of these were in the period when tech was advancing so fast so when they came to fruition they were already dated
