My moneys on Stefanik. Could bring over some women voters and she's more or less in line with the rest of the party. Burgum and Scott are tied for second, though I wouldn't be surprised if either of them were picked.

Rubio has already said he would move out of Florida if he was chosen as VP. He could move to Nevada where he would not have to live in the state for a long period to be considered a resident. Bush and Cheney did the same thing, both were living in Texas and Cheney moved just before the election. So this really is no obstacle for Rubio and Trump

Tbh I thought Abrams would have been better pick as GA is swing while California is not. Abrams ran a hard race in purple state while Harris only needed to win over democrats. Harris had just flopped in the primary. Abrams almost become GA governor.

I think Governor Burgum is pretty likely, at least if Trump is the one making the decision and not his handlers. Burgum is the sort of bland rich white guy Trump seems to like appointing to important jobs when left to his own devices. I don’t think he has sophisticated political instincts about this sort of thing.

Yeah. IMO he would only gain if he selects someone of colour or a woman, as he’s got small rises in popularity of recent (compared to his not so good record) . This sounds a bit odd given some of his hardcore base can’t comprehend such a move however, they won’t drop their support for trump, who else would they support? Biden (no chance). All whilst trump takes some moderates.

In 2016, in a CNN interview, Rubio stated, "For years to come, there are many people on the right, in the media and voters at large, that are going to be having to explain and justify how they fell into this trap of supporting Donald Trump." Furthermore, J.D. Vance once compared Trump to Hitler. All of this is to say that attack ads on those two would go HARD if either were choosen

Trump won't risk chosing a running mate who might grab some attention away from him. So neither Stefanik nor Scott will be his choice. JD Vance is very young, and might well try to outshine Trump should the ticket be victorious. Trump won't risk playing second fiddle during the second half of the next term. So, it's either Rubio or Bergum. My money is on the latter.

I don't know if you guys have seen Tulsi's latest videos, but she's on his side on everything that counts. We would all be foolish to think that having a "yes-man" or woman would be the best for him. Don't forget, he did hire some neocons in his prior administration, the most egregious by far being John Bolton. He needs to be checked sometimes. Also, being staunchly anti-abortion, especially to the point of banning it, is not a smart move politically speaking. That's what destroyed the red wave in the midterms a while back.

Vivek is too “car salesman” unserious, confrontative and eccentric which will threaten Trumps spotlight and might make him harder to control. He’s also from Ohio which is not that strategic. I also fail to see how Vivek could be considered the 2028 GOP top candidate. I’m certain that Trump will choose a loyal but more reasonable, analytical and “boring” (it’s needed for the dynamic and contrast to Trump) candidate for VP, preferably from a purple swing state and preferably an ethnic minority or woman to maximize the chance of flipping a few states

Ramaswamy was loved by Trump's base. He was the Trump base's pick for VP. That is literally why he won't be picked either, because a VP pick is a way to grow your base by getting the VP pick's supporters. If Ramaswamy was chosen, that would lead to no new base being brought in because the base is identical. Trump isn't even Christian. To argue his voters won't vote for a non Christian is to admit you know literally nothing at all about Trump. Also, Ramaswamy clearly isn't a foreigner as he is capable of running so it is stupid of you to argue otherwise. You lefties really cling onto this idea that the multi racial and multi ethnic base Trump has is still somehow racist despite nothing racist being said or done. Pay attention to what actually happens and get your news from both sides of the isle. No but it will be much closer than it has been. Going from Biden +23 to Biden +15 is a reasonable possibility, and would be a massive shift. Polling has repeatedly shown high single digits, +15 is modest. Think of how Texas has moved. Democrats haven’t won anything yet but it’s still significant that it narrowed. And it draws attention that the GOP could use elsewhere.

@@itchyscientist0576 Republicans dedicating resources there would be a testament to their wishful thinking going into the election. It's not the same case as Texas. Texas went from a GOP +25 in 2000 to a +5.5 in 2020. New York in those same two decades went from a DEM +25 to a +23. The GOP sending funds there that can be used on swing states would be unwise, especially based on polls that we know Democrats are overperforming massively since the mid-terms.

I generally like the TLDR content, but as an American I find that whenever I try their US videos, I’m unimpressed. Why is Rep. Stefanik analyzed in this video but not Gov. Burgum when all reporting indicates she has fallen and may no longer even be considered for VP while he is among the top choices. Also, how is Ohio a reliably red state at the presidential level but Florida isn’t? Both states votes for George Bush twice, then Obama twice, then Trump twice. Both states have certainly become more Republican since Trump’s initial run in 2016 but to categorize them differently is very odd. Lastly, why no suggestion of Sen. Rubio resigning and moving, which he could even do after the election but before the electoral college casts ballots in December

My money is on Scott. He’s the most obedient, has no history of anti-Trump sentiment and may actually siphon off just enough black votes in key areas to make him a worthy choice. Rubio would be the most logical choice but he’s a very cocky character and is far more smooth-talking than Trump is and I’m sure Trump would get jealous really fast. Vance also suffers from this. Stefanik offers some benefits but I don’t think enough broad reaching ones Trump would be looking for, especially over women. Cristi Noam would’ve been the logical choice on that front but the whole dog story worked against her for sure. (Understatement I know)

Yall missed that Brian Hughes told NBC that they want a Vice President who would be able to run and hold the presidency themselves after Trump. Anyway Tim Scott breaking with Republicans on not calling into question the 2020 election probably eliminates him from contention. He would probably otherwise be the strongest of the four candidates you listed. I would be very surprised if Elise Stefanik or Marco Rubio got the pick. I fully expect it to be Doug Burton or JD Vance.

Surprised this video didnt mention Senator Tom Cotton or Governor Doug Burgum, I've seen those two mentioned in the media quite a few times as potential candidates, Burgum especially. Given he declared his support to Trump as soon as he dropped out of the race.

Overall a good video but you're wrong on one point. Rubio has already said he would move out of Florida if he was chosen as VP. He could move to Nevada where he would not have to live in the state for a long period to be considered a resident. Bush and Cheney did the same thing, both were living in Texas and Cheney moved just before the election. So this really is no obstacle for Rubio and Trump.
