The 4 Noble Truths Retreat was a 7-day event from 9 Feb to 15 Feb 2023 at Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. There were 2 teachings per day - LP Sumedho's Dhamma talk in the mornings and Ajahn Asoko's Q&A in the evenings.

Ajahn Asoko’s understanding clarifies so much of LP’s teachings. Sometimes a new voice brings light to old teachings 🙏🏼

His good deeds have paid off. He reflects LP's wisdom. Ajahn asoko is already or almost there. I picked him saying LP has finished his work. I also feel he is.

Ajahn Asoko has learned well from Ajahn Sumedho, his job looking after him is not easy, as he has stated in a video on Amaravati, however the wisdom cultivated is evident. May he be blessed 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

We’re all caught in our own dream - monks included - and to try to escape it only leads us back into the dream. There’s no escape. Nobody can show you the way out or to a better dream - no monk, religion or teaching. You are inescapably yourself and that’s the beauty.

Is there a consciousness (knowing) separate and apart from the five khandhas.? Doesn't consciousness arise in conjunction with the sense objects and bases.?

@painterbythesea: (What I've learned from the teachings is that) Knowing --> conscious awareness or Pure consciousness. It is different from sense consciousness from the five khandhas. Metaphorically speaking, pure consciousness is the fabric background where sense consciousness arises and passes away.
