Thanks for this. Maybe showing the fingerings to beginners with a closer camera may help? This isn't much use over a verbal audio description of what you are doing. Especially to a beginner. Liked the video anyways.

Are you using standard E A D G B E tuning? Mine is set standard (trained with the Mel Bay Method) and it sounds different.

they appear to be using standard tuning..stick with the Mel Bay books...they will help you more than most of what you are going to see..hopefully hear...on youtube...consider the Mickey Baker books if you really want to get good

@@pietrolapera3008 because it will make you look cooler and let`s face it..in today`s music appearances are what counts..also be sure to use a lot of distortion to cover up your ever increasing mistakes..whatever you do if you get old..if is a very big word..don`t switch to a strat because even tho it is lighter and the neck is thinner and is easier on your ever increasing PAIN..trust me..if you play guitar long enough you will experience PAIN..let`s face it...you won`t look cool..I suggest buying a cheap Epiphone and ditching your tuning meter..or at least stop staring at your stupid fone when attempting to " tune " your guitar..god forbid you use your ears

Ha! Um, the E and A are on the top of the neck. ABOVE the other strings. Duh! You mean the low E and the A string.

With guitar we actually consider the thinner strings to be the top and the thicker strings to be the bottom. I agree, it's a little weird... But it's always been explained that way. :)

Guitareo it's only explained that way when someone doesn't consider logic. Yeah it's weird, but if it's not true then don't address it that way. Its only true when you address the high e as #1 and low E #6. In other terms it's redundant. So why do it?

It is true , we call the low E string the bottom string as in lowest sounding string

Technically, it is true. "Bottom" is the lowest in pitch and "top" is the highest in pitch. Again, I can understand why it might seem weird to some, when we say "top" and "bottom" we're referring to pitch and not relation to the ground. :)
