This is a🌼 fantasy lie🌼, I was single for 5 years, hard worker, fit, kind, smart... Not till I started to work on finding someone did it happen. Love does NOT just find you. Now I'm wondering why people say that just because it's their experience. Not like that for everyone.

Love your singleness first. I see so many people that can't even handle the relationship with themselves and than looking for a partner to fulfill their needs and emptiness, they most likely choose someone who is also a mess and than they have the relationship that is a mess and they blame everything on their partner. Stop looking for someone else to fulfill you. Being single doesn't mean you're alone...

So grateful for you Marissa. We need to be taught the art of conversation and friendship earlier on. I wish I could have been exposed to this as a young woman. It is so daunting to now undo years of being wired to not feel loveable. It is like swimming upstream. Expecially when you think you are finally getting it and something happens to put you back at square one. Takes even more strength to fight letting yourself slide back into old beliefs. This is when I reach for Marissa to keep me from going backwards. The world needs more Marissa.

I just turned 44 and have been single for about 8 years and I’m really struggling with feeling unworthy. Exactly all these things Marissa is saying - I’m not enough, I’m not interesting enough. I am absolutely scared of being rejected and it’s hard to imagine any man truly loving me. My family is not wealthy and I feel inadequate or feel guilty that a man will just think he is losing out it that he could do better. It’s awful and I’ve tried to listen to hypnosis for years to help me.

Well I was in 2 long relationships,and they had their good times but overall they where emotionally draining,I bought my 2 sons up on my own and the love and joy we shared enriched our lives.no bossy husband or partner trying to please them all the time,making our own decisions and doing what we wanted whenever .I realized the beliefs that you need a man is far from true learning to be free in your own soul is beautiful and far more enriching than being tied to any man.
@juliettesleeve67633 жыл бұрын
I agree with you Jackie I'm doing same thing as you Being tied to bossy partner of which most men are Is exhausting and listening to there nonsense everyday is also stressful I love making my own rules and doing what I want to do is so much more interesting and fun However when we where young we where molded into this marriage by our parents and society Its just illusion That all it is Its a fake from start However there are some women who still fall for this unless they have they cant function There not independent not intelligent to make there own life's They will be wearing aprons and asking for twenty dollars to buy a dress omg what a life but you change it they where molded into this from beginning of time Only the smart ones run make there own lives

I would like to fall in love with someone that loves me. I noticed that I reject those that show too much love and admiration towards me. I push them away because suddenly they aren't attractive to me anymore. Then I end up falling for those that show less love towards me. They end up hurting me or cheating on me. I've been struggling with this for years and I just cant figure out why. I can't force myself to love someone that's good for me. I wish I can fix this about me 😔

I have never found anyone like him and I always think about and compare to the guys I’ve been dating that my first love treated me like a queen. However he was bipolar and too flighty in the end. I have learnt self love and self acceptance over the past few years and have never felt so happy within myself and with my life. When you love yourself you treat yourself with great kindness and respect while also having a constant flow of love toward yourself, regardless of what is happening outside of you. Finding the IDEAL partner has been FAR more difficult than learning to love myself. Dating is the most tiresome chore I've ever had to do and unfortunately will have to continue to do. Compatibility and a shared vision are extremely important in a relationship, not just feelings of romantic love. Being with the right partner rather than the wrong partner is an expression of self love.

Thank you, Marisa, for posting these insightful, helpful videos. I would like to ask you to make a video about jobs, careers, and navigating a job that I do not like. I have listened to you advise on using colorful, exciting language to tell my brain what I want, telling my brain I want this job, I have chosen this job; however, how does one know when a job just isn't right? I have heard you speak about how you once studied to be a child psychiatrist, but didn't like it, so you became an aerobics instructor in L.A. for Jane Fonda. How did you make that change? Did you feel guilt for changing your job? How did you know you could make that change? For some reason I feel obligated to stay in my current job because I'll be a quitter and a failure if I don't, but I am uninterested in the job. It depletes my energy. I actually hate the job even though I've told my mind I love it and I chose it.

Nothing wrong w being single. It sure beats being married to th wrong person. And feminism helped me b comfortable living w my guy for 24 years before we married. We’ve been together 40+ good years now. I strongly believe feminist ideas helped us have a healthier relationship. We work at not taking each other for granted and being respectful to each other. Plus a sense of humor helps too.
