If I had a nickel for every major installment of F Zero that is lost media, I'd have 3 nickels, which isn't a lot but goddamn is that a lot by Nintendo franchise standards

Here's something that might interest lost media hunters: A KZfaq user, by the name of Porthor, has a video with a modified Big Blue track with Forest's ground tileset. Turns out, that tileset is a re-coloring and re-working of Port Town's ground tileset. Even if the data for the Forest and Metal Fort tracks continues to be lost, the Forest tracks are in a good shape to be recreated.

Cool video dude! With the attention f-zero has been getting lately there'll probably be a higher chance of find a copy. Also wanted to say that for some reason your videos haven't been popping up in my feed for some reason. The last video of yours that I got shown was the "important bumper" one. So now I'm going back and watching the rest.

This was a cool video, I don't follow game preservation religiously (though I do think it's important) and hot damn all I can say is I've heard enough to know the Satellaview is a nightmare in terms of that. Also it's cool to hear some of CosmicTailz's expanded soundtrack in the background, guy's a great remixer

Things like this are why I'm glad emulation and rom hacking exist. While it would be nice to have the original rom for preservation sake, the hack BS F-Zero Deluxe gives you access to these lost tracks, along with the Ace League tracks and other 4 machines. Nintendo could add this stuff to F-Zero 99 if they cared. Instead, they wanna go after people for making emulators. F Nintendo for the way they treat their most devoted, die hard fans.

Speaking of 99 not having Ace League tracks. Apparently the backgrounds of Forest and others were datamined at some point! But then after I think Winter Update came (or prior) the Forest bg disappeared, but not the rest. Pretty sus huh?

To get the footage I used the F-Zero Execution Project program, loaded in the rom to get the textures set up, then moved the camera around to get a good shot.
