I would put Ramos in there over Ferdinand, but the list is solid. Ramos won a World cup and ushered in, along with Ronaldo, the second greatest era of European dominance for a club team...4 trophies in 5 years with Real....2014-2018. He was just as responsible for this success as Ronnie was. A World Cup and the best European era of dominance since the 50's....that alone puts him over Ferdinand and gets him in the top 5.....you can argue top 3.

I'll make mine but.. Five, it's really a few. 5 Vierchowod 4 Nesta 3 Krol 2 Scirea 1 Baresi - Beckenbauer. Honorable mentions: Stam, Van Dijk, Kohler, Sammer.... The list is pretty long. 👀

Milan fan here. Maldini was indeed a great center back in his latest years, but definately not an all time top five. He was possibly the best left back of the last 40 years, though. That was his role.

Can't imagine a list without Pepe. It's actually ridiculous to claim Nesta or Maldini were even close.

You must be kidding me. Nesta was hands down the best centerback of the last 30 years. Pepe wouldn't make it in the top 10.

No maldini? Wat a disgrace... Maldini is #1... for every single football fan. Maldini Baresi Nesta Cannavaro, Puyol, and lots of Top defenders could be competing against each other depending on which era and wat year.. 2006 Cannavaro at the world cup was the best defending preformance in the football history.. but you can't say he is the best CB.

I thought Maldini would I’ll do all the Italian center backs. The only benefit of the doubt I could give this guy is that Maldini I heard played a lot of left back in his career. Maybe this guy took that into perspective

Maldini was a LEFT BACK. That's where he reached hus prime, and that is the role that made him a legend for the strongest team that ever graced a pitch: the 89-95 AC Milan.
