Great info regarding the air filter. Once I remove mine, I always take the shop vac and suck out any debris that may be hiding back there on the odd chance it is hiding. That should stop it from entering the intake.

The reason for that maybe that they want your machine to die quicker so that you would have to pay money for new parts. I mean some companies are very shady.

I checked my axle reservoir a week after I got my L3560 when we got it a couple years ago and it was below the check port and added a lot more UDT2 than it be being just under the check port. Same with wheel bolts as some were initially not torqued to the correct value and two were actually loose also. Whether it was the factory or the dealer who knows but check your new tractor out with some real scrutiny because there are generally a few items missed that could damage the tractor. Tractor maintenance like greasing is a pita in the middle of a job but it pays off

I just completely rebuilt the mower deck from my tractor. It wasn’t, bad, per se, but it needed a good cleaning. Especially important if you buy a used machine to check up on the deck. It got cleaned and painted, a few pieces of hardware replaced, and it works great. I usually wash it off after I’m done mowing each time, and then at the end of the season when we take it off to put the snowblower on, it gets scraped clean.

honestly, I hate how people treat their lawn mowers! highly neglected equipment. I mean someone spends $5000- 8000 on a John Deere riding mower, then never changed the oil, greases it, cleans the deck or maintains it in any way. borrowed the neighbor's mower and told him I would do TLC. engine oil hasn't been changed, oil over filled, nothing greased and flat tires. I went through it including servicing the battery and found it was a much happier riding mower!

In my opinion when you addressed the air filter change on that model, you missed a great piece of potential advice. That housing is equipped with a burpper (what i have always called them). It is the rubber piece on the bottom of the housing. If you squeeze it, a lot of that dirt will fall out of the housing. You can bump the housing after emptying and sometimes get a bit more out. Unfortunately not every housing has it.
@dd_ranchtexas4501
@dd_ranchtexas4501 5 жыл бұрын
Coy Patton: Mine has that "burpper" too, but there is still a good bit of dirt that won't drop out there. So before pulling the filter, I unhook the air intake hose, pull the filter, pull the rubber piece, then use a blast of air to blow out all of the crud. Only takes a minute more and removes ALL the dirt. Put the inlet hose and rubber piece back on, new filter in and done...........

Kind of hard to trust the mfg's recommendation on hydraulic fluid since many mfg's market and of course recommend their own brand of fluid. And, yes, it costs way more than other brands. Mahindra does. That's pretty convenient.

Regarding the BX fuel filters...…. I've never understood the logic of having two IDENTICAL inline fuel filters on those machines. Theoretically, the second filter up by the engine will never see any dirt or need changing. It would have made more sense to have a watercatch coarse filter stand, followed by the final fine mesh filter like nearly every other machine has. Granted, the BX is tight on space, but still...… On my BX's, I use an all-plastic 200 micron inline filter at the back (WIX 33972) to get the big stuff and keep the pump happy, then an OEM filter under the hood for final filtering. The 33972 is a great all-purpose, transparent, coarse inline I use on nearly all my machines that lack a pre-filter, to prolong the life of the finals and give some visible insight into the conditions inside the fuel tank.
@MessicksEquip
@MessicksEquip 6 жыл бұрын
the reason there are two is because of the electric lift pump thats between them. The first one filters for the pump, the send protects the engine if the pump falls apart.

My Dad had a friend who was working on a corn chopper and was cut by the blade and within 4-5 hours had to have most of his arm amputated due to infection from the cut. And a mower deck can be alot dirtier than a corn chopper. Call me what you want, it`s just a friendly warning.
@xephael3485
@xephael3485 6 жыл бұрын
Sean Rhodes If any doctor is amputating your arm in 4 to 5 hours; I'd suggest reporting them to the nearest medical board and discontinuing the use of their services imediately. Gloves only cover your hands and won't protect your arms. Probably need to wear a heavyweight long sleeve shirt, elbow pads, and a face sheild just to be safe. I'm guessing the idiot who had their arm amputated didn't clean a minor cut, let it get infected...then days or weeks later sought medical attention.

Probably the most common mistake I see time and time again! Is NOT using the proper tools for the job. The amount of oil plugs, bolts, etc. rounded. Because the owner "forgot" to use a decent 6 face socket! Is absolutely ridiculous! Gents, please keep in mind. Pliers of all sorts, adjustable wrenches and a vast etc. Are NOT proper tools for the job! It's that simple. Let alone the metric hardware being messed up by imperial tools!
