As a brand new skier, I can confirm the coaches are 100% real. They hunt me down like an animal. ….and to be fair I realllly appreciate it. I’m an absolute liability out there.

My dad (1943-2017) was the ultimate chatty stranger. Everywhere we went, he ended up with a new best friend. On a ski lift one time, he struck up a conversation with a guy who owned some condominiums. The next time dad and his brother were skiing, they stopped by this guy's place, ended up hanging out with him and his wife all week, and remained friends for decades. I sure miss him.

You forgot the family of 8 spread out across the entire run, the ski bum/stoners that probably work there, and the incredibly rich people showing off all their fancy gear 😂

Man the confidence to film this while others are skiing is hilarious.

I love chatty stranger's, they make me feel more welcome and comfortable. Especially if I'm on a hard slope and someone comes to help, like THANK YOU 😂

Fun fact : If you're a beginner who accidentally gets on an expert slope because your best friend's older sister likes to mess with you, if you're too embarrassed to admit defeat and endanger yourself enough they'll eventually send rescuers on snowmobiles to ride back down the ski lift with you. At least that's what I've been told . .

As a ski racer, watching the go pro kid is completely accurate.

Ohhh, the instructor who takes a novice down their first blue run without telling them - and you don't realise it until you're halfway down, and then there's no alternative but to keep going and try to keep the screaming to a minimum. (Apparently they all do that, because 'If I'd told you we were going down a blue run you'd have never followed me.") At least when I did do my very first authentic yard sale, I got a round of applause from the people on the lift overhead.

Went snowboarding with some work friends with very little experience who struggled massively with the green and blue runs but had a blast at the "magic carpet" area, so funny. Then to the bar of course. They considered it an epic day on the slopes 😄

Ah, that's really funny! Well done! I'm the chatty stranger, including the thrift store skis and boots. Also wear an old ratty hoodie. I started on quality equipment 50 years ago and now I'll ski on damn near anything. Goes without saying that I'm prepared to discuss anything. Or anywhere!

Here’s another type of person you’ll meet specifically on the lifts: The Lift Weirdo. One time I was skiing in New Hampshire with a buddy of mine on a school trip, and while we were on the chair lift going to one of our runs, we were watching the other skiers and snowboarders going down the hill. One of these skiers I thought was another one of my friends so I watched him go down and after he passed my chair I looked up at the guy in the chair behind me, and this dude is no joke passed out on the chair with a box of cheezits. And we had just left the lift station not 5 seconds prior. I sat there utterly in awe of this man.

Dang it! Yinz were at keystone! Man. I would have come up and bought yinz a beer and gave ya some shine as a thanks for all the laughs
