Eamonn Connell and Paddy Fanning are sheepdog trainers from Ireland. Both fellows also compete in sheepdog trials at National and International events. Eamonn works shepherding sheep and cattle in Co. Meath and Paddy farms a small flock of cheviots in the Wicklow Mountains.
In this video, Eamonn explains the 5 steps or stages in the training of a sheepdog for both working scenarios and for competing in sheepdog trials. As Eamonn descibes the steps, we also try to illustrate it with video of the different stages.
