Not exactly sure what you're trying to say about "C#". But yes, pound (#) and sharp (♯) are different-tilted vertical lines vs. tilted horizontal lines. The sharp symbol does still exist, as you can see. The "S#" used for "Sport Sharp" on the dial is actually a pound sign, but pretty much everyone uses the pound sign instead of the real sharp symbol. Only time you're guaranteed to see ♯ is on sheet music.

Never ever did i think i would say that. I even cancelled my service appointment at my local speed shop for a stage 3 package to be installed because i know a buyer will want it as close to stock and unmolested as possible

The C sharp programming language technically should be written C♯, but as you can't easily type in, general use has made people associate hash with it instead. Pixel, yeah. I was curious a few years back why it was called sharp or hash and looked it up. The thing with the sharp sign is that it's difficult to be able to type it out (browser, text, etc.), so commonly the hash is substituted. But in this case (I think), Subaru should have used the sharp symbol.
