A developer named Scott Gillen is in the process of building what is on track to be the most expensive neighborhoods in the world, and he is already in the final stages of construction. Called "The Case" this exclusive 5 home community in Malibu will feature brand new ~11,000 foot mid century modern inspired mansions that are decked out with the nicest finished imaginable. In today's episode we take a look at this luxury real estate development together, we review the renderings, and we look at another $35 million listing that Scott Gillen built that is also on the market.

What’s most amazing about all of this isn’t the scale of the houses, or the views, or how much the developer spent or how much the houses cost. The most impressive thing is that he got Costal Commission approval to build this … and also that he got it as quickly as he did. Back in the day I remember people who applied to build and it would take more years than you could count and some never got approval at all. Securing approval for all of that, well, it’s pretty incredible. Dude must have some serious influence.

I live in Tiburon/belvedere ca. Been to Malibu, Newport Beach. I got to say. I fell in love with Cabo after my visit. Warmer water, custom homes. More constant warm weather. They have quite a few gated communities with their own restaurants, gyms, bars, golf courses within the community. Like Eldorado, four seasons, St. Regis. Diamante, etc. Safe and quiet. 2.5-3 hours from San Francisco.

9:56 you don’t know what that is! One of the greatest artist in modern history “KAWS Companion” this artist has had large statues in the middle of Rockefeller Center! Some of the most beautiful/opulent skyscrapers in New York City has decked out their lobbies with a statue

Thought they've been trying to sell these for years? Seen them on a couple real estate shows a while ago from what I remember. Seems like the pricing is extremely "ambitious" and they've cycled through agents.

scott, as well as the project have had a couple features, possibly pre-pandemic, but they haven't been listed on the msls. the malibu castle has gone through a few realtors and price adjustment. but the case homes have been under construction for a while.

Nice video of Scott Gillen The case Malibu Mansions. I think Scott loves architecture because he created a website for The Case Mansions The Case Mansions are beautiful and modern, I wish they were two floors like Scott New Castle Mansion. Scott is a good businessman instead of creating one $500 million dollar mansion like Nile Naomi The One in 5 Acres, Scott created 5 mansions for $500 million on 20 acres.

I can only imagine his blood pressure medication must be on another level. Inspiring story though, he sounds somewhat self-made and reinvested in Malibu which has obviously paid off. Great vid as always Scott.

I have seen of Scott Gillen's tours online in the past his prices are usually high, and his finishes and staging sometimes look cheap. These look nicer than usual. He needed to break up the brown tones a little, though. I also would like to see a few different textures. To be clear I'd take any of them LOL but I am considering the price and what I've seen for the price.

You don’t know KAWS? He’s a pretty terrible, but insanely popular artist. Not sure why they’d put a KAWS statue in the rendering considering he’s for like sneaker collectors and rappers.

Problem is…. Malibu burns to the ground every 5-10 years due to the wildfires. And there’s no sign for relief as Southern California gets worse with the drought

Malibu doesn't seem to have a whole lot of privacy from neighbors, at that price point I would at least expect some tall trees to block out the neighbors from seeing into my yard. This kind of privacy is what you get in Atherton....or at least what you used to get up until the state mandated affordable housing in the city putting a multi-family unit next to Stephen Curry's mansion.

The topography of Malibu is not ideal. Newport Coast in OC has way more intrinsic value. That said, CA and LA county in general is a dumpster fire that no one is interested in right now if you are actually looking for ROI. Nice design renderings. Houses right on the beach are what people want and pay the most for.I doubt they'll sell for the desired price,especially as they look identical.

I'm not sure what's happening but houses in these areas lately look more like a business park or office rather than a home. For that amount of money, you'd think they would invest in a decent architect ...... 🤔😐

The developer appeared on Million Dollar Listing trying to sell a larger house higher up the hill. He seemed very unpleasant. Smart bet though if climate change is true these houses will be ocean front in 50 years. 😮

I don't think this is going to work. People who can spend 70 mill don't want to be in some little prefabricated village of similar cookie cutter structures. The ONLY thing these places have is good views. This is going to "fail" or at least not going to be the success the developer has in mind. Good on him for having a go though.

Love you and your show but Malibu doesn't have good beaches much less "some of the best beaches in the United States". They are gross, the water is freezing to the point where you can't even get in without a wetsuit. The sand is ugly and coarse. Contrast that with North Carolina with white powder sands, warm water, and gorgeous backlit sunsets instead of a retina-burning sun in your eyes with no beauty to it most of the time. Love your show but you're totally wrong on this point. Malibu is ugly.

they look like renovations very old mansions then modern homes, honestly I've seen better homes in the spanish coast of a 10th of the asking price in exclusive neighbourhoods where the european billionaries and super models live.

@@Real.Estate.Report I've always thought that the mid century homes were more of a trophy property then not. something that was bought more as an antique then anything. because the architect was famous and now he's long gone. but these homes are brand new, they have no history. so that defeats the propose.

These places are beautiful, the natural beauty as well as the architecture. It's paradise...and most are unworthy. Look at the people ruining it, its in their nature, its what they are. I'm more concerned about the people that sit by and do nothing. "Leik, ur ruining my vibe broooooo....", yeah, npc's are a thing, they just are. It's sad.
