Marilyn Mccoo is such a classy lady. The world is a better place because of couples like her and Billy Davis Junior. What a great song! Her voice of course, but even the way she enunciates the words. Four top 40 singles came from the album called Portrait by the 5th Dimension in 1970. One Less Bell To Answer, Save The Country, This Is Your Life and Puppet Man.😮 This is a great album with traxx that rival the four successful singles. This album is still in my vinyl collection even now😮😮😊It also contains their only three part medley called Medley. Please hear the 1997 Digitally Remastered version.

I was in elementary school when they were big and I remember when Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. split off to perform on their own. They had their own tv show and were always on different variety shows. She has a beautiful voice and I still remember her as she was back then.

A great era for this type of song and singer. If you want more of that, ask for suggestions. Same era as the Carpenters. Try Gladys Knight and "Midnight Train to Georgia" if you haven't done it yet. Lots of excellent male and female vocalists, plus Motown groups like the Spinners, Manhattans, Stylistics, and so on.
