@@windrushwargamers2745 Honestly I'm just getting started in the hobby! My dream is to eventually have everything I need in my personal collection to play through the Quest of the Ringebearer. At the beginning of the process, so just 3d printed a hobbit house for farmer maggot's farm, and working on building some trees. Davale Games does an impressive Smaug proxy as well, they call it the 'Dragon of the Cave'.

@@gentlemancorpse Well you seem to be off to a good start. Quest of the ringbearer campaign would work nicely. Will you document the QotRB anywhere? I did notice the Devale games Dragon after releasing this video, it does look awesome :)

That's a good idea buddy. They could proxy for lots of orcs/ goblins. Stalkers, Hunter orcs, Goblin Mercenaries, trackers and on and on. A very diverse Kit

Thanks, that is nice of you to say! Glad you like the picks. I want to build up more knowledge on proxies and it's always nice talking to like minded people -so let us know what proxies you found. I will make more videos on proxies so it's good to have more information in my back pocket :)

@@windrushwargamers2745 Not currently. But I have some conversion ideas for some cheaper Iron Hills Goat Riders which I might eventually cave into making. There's Hobbit movie concept art of boar cavalry, and GW's orc boars are mighty tempting.

@@Depiff That's cool, are you using the goats from TT combat halfling's goats or the boars?

@@windrushwargamers2745 The plan is to use boars. My favourite part of the hobby is conversion projects and I think some war boars would make for a more interesting army aesthetically.... Oh no. I have enough models sitting in my to-do pile, but now I can't resist converting up some war boars! Damn you!

@@Old_Shatterhans Thanks :) Yeah, I think we will focus on specific profiles as opposed to entire ranges in some cases when we do this next time. Tying it back to Middle earth is always the tricky part. If you had some Minas Tirith Warriors you could potentially use their heads? No only would that tie it to ME but to Gondor Specifically.

@@windrushwargamers2745 Meirce minatures have some nice dragons/trolls but are a bit costly if you dont get them in a sale. I converted up some balrogs from their infernii minis. Whats your views on stuff GW doesn't do like 1st/2nd age? Cant wait to see future content!

My brother and I, have been talking about the doing some content for the channel on the 1st/2nd ages and even some unexplored bits in the 3rd age. These will be some custom scenarios for events that happen in the far past like the Kin Strifes' ect. We are hoping to do them later this year :) we will just need to convert/ proxy up some appropriate miniatures for it. We have a few ideas right now, but if you have anything you would like to see feel free to give us some suggestions here in the comments or via email.

That sounds ace mate. It s diverse kit so I can picture it being used for Rohan also. Are you using bits for the mounted options also?

@@windrushwargamers2745 I'm actually using the Conquest Games Norman range for extra cavalry, but the Victrix Vikings are such excellent sculpts that it seemed wrong not to use them.

@@windrushwargamers2745 The Vikings I mainly got to represent Grombold's men, who are described as being more wild and close to Dunlanders, while the Normans hopefully represent the more noble aspects of the society, having more refined weapons and armour. As for design, I like that Tolkien left it a bit vague, with Rohan being generically Early Medieval. I do also have some of the GW minis for regular guys, but I like the variety for the specialists too.

Hi Taylor, hmmmmm... Easterling's are tricky. As Stanley mentions above- the Fireforge games Byzantine Cataphracts could work well for Easterling Kataphrakts (but after looking -I like the Byzantine Koursores for this also). Both linked here: fireforge-games.com/byzantines/694-byzantine-koursores.html and fireforge-games.com/byzantines/696-byzantine-cataphracts.html . They are almost half the price as the Easterling Kataphrakts and you could simply convert them by adding the top half of the Easterling Warriors. this could be really handy right now as they don't seem to be available from the webstore or from other vendors. The only thing that would be missing is the War drum. But I can see a war drum in this kit here for the Mongol heavy Cavalry Command: fireforge-games.com/mongol-horde/281-mongol-heavy-cavalry-command.html if you wanted one. I haven't given Easterlings much thought as I don't collect them- but let me know how you get on if you give these ideas a go :) It would be handy if anyone else asks about them.

You could cut off the platform the victrix figures come with, but tbh Dunlendings are taller than other men in lore so its a bit fitting

Hi Buddy, I have had a think. If you wanted to kit bash I would pick up some historical sprues for the swords/ bows and modify the Harad warriors kit. It should be a slight saving and the bonus is that they are actually available not like the official ones from the GW website. They are designed by Devale Miniatures so if you had a printer you could save even more money and print loads yourself by getting the STLs. I hope this helps, Joe

​@@windrushwargamers2745I proxy Arnor with Victrix Saxons and Late Roman Armoured Infantry, you can kitbash them together to make dark age looking Arthedain/Arnor. The Arthur head of Late Roman on the fur lined robed saxon king looks alot like Arvedui. Although my Malbeth is currently a monk haha

Hi Mate, I have had a look. Aside from 3D prints I did find one that looks decent and scales okay.: The DARK ALLIANCE 72032 War Trolls (particularly Set 3). I think they are meant to represent Mordor trolls but at 1/72 scale they work better for cave trolls. Set 3 has the maces so that is probably the best one. GW Cave troll is £18:50 for one. These seem to be between £6- £12 for 4 so a big saving. There as some available on ebay and from various Miniature vendors online. I hope this helps and let me know what you think of them or if you find some more suitable ones

Out of Interest Niles, How do the 4Ground Chariots scale against the GW ones? Do they fit on the 60mm Bases?

Just to add to this, artistic modelling - using green stuff or computerized design and 3D printed - is one of the main parts of the hobby. Just don't turn up with an entire proxy army with no modifications.

Not suggesting anything- 'your time and your money, spend it how you like'. We clearly like proxying. Out of interest where do they state that they are okay with proxies so long as you modify them? Pretty sure they have a zero tolerance policy for proxies for playing in store/at official tournaments. Not sure if you could rock up at Warhammer world with a 3d printed army, modified with GW shields for instance and they would be fine with it.
