It's not the distance that scares me. It's the sharks. Lakes, rivers, no problem. Oceans or seas... Not so much. Incidents like what happened to Simon Nellist are always in the back of my mind. That's why I'm even more impressed by these people.

understandable, but regarding sharks, the drive to the destination is much more dangerous than the swim part.

I didn't catch wether a swimswit is "banned" for all the swims in this list. I also didn't catch what a regulated swim means. I' ve done English channel crossing and North Channel crossing using a wetsuit and followed by friends on kayaks, but I just got to the beach and went in the sea, I didn't know I needed any kind of documents nor permissions

I think you might need permission for the Channel. It’s one of the busiest shipping areas!

It's an interesting question. For me, if your goggles are causing a migraine you need to get different goggles... some are better than others (as I have discovered 🤕 ).

It's a swim, so it's the bodies of land that matter, and it's definitely Ireland (the island) on the other side of the channel. It's just a bit confusing that 'Ireland' is also used as a name for the country.

Can you indicate which swims are wetsuit permissible vs. which ones are not?

The video mentioned that none of them are wetsuit permissible (i.e. you won't get credit for the swim if you wear a wetsuit).

Why no credit? What difference does it make what your wearing?? See I would wear a neon swimsuit. Or maybe nothing at all versus a black suit

@@Feral-Bixch No swimming aids are allowed. Wetsuits increase buoyancy a lot and make swimming much easier.
