The 700cc Grom gets the biggest Axle and Sprocket ever put on a mini bike!

Today, we modify our stock Honda Grom rear wheel to fit some new bearings that accommodate a huge 20mm axle. The stock axle is 12mm in diameter, so we knew we needed to upgrade that to handle the 80hp we're about to put to the wheel. we throw on our beefy 520 chain width rear sprocket and start lining things up for our final drive. We install some awesome new swing arm extensions with a new swing arm and test everything out. We compare The Grominator to a stock Honda Grom for size comparison as well.
Let us know what you think of this new swing arm and axle setup and how this project is going in the comments below! ⬇⬇⬇
As always, huge thanks to our supporters and all the folks helping us make this happen! We set out to build the fastest Honda Grom on the planet, and we wouldn't be able to do it without the help encouragement from our friends and families.

I run a similar rear wheel setup on my Honda Ruckus Ninja 300 motor swap and it's a 12 second 1/4 mile , 7 second 1/8 mile bike. I am running a 17mm rear axle with the OEM Grom Rear wheel. The I.D. on the OEM Grom bearings are 17mm so I didn't have to make any major changes to the wheel. I am running a different sprocket hub though, from a bigger bike. The way you have built your center spacer between the bearings is probably going to eat your bearing. Hit me up if you want an explanation.

Extreme creations made a turbo kit for the mt09, good products there. Maybe down the track for lols you could get a turbo kit from them to fit this beast as you have plenty of room in the middle to use up, this thing is turning out so well. I seriously wouldn’t mind if you drag this out but nah don’t do that. Keep it up lads. 👌🏻👌🏻

I cant help but wonder, whats the plan with the front brakes? Bigger engine obviously needs more stopping power. Double rotor? Apart from that, nice work! Its cool watching it come together step by step.

New here but looking at the frame already I'm like not sure I would call that a grom any more at best it still has the general shape of one kinda but still looks like an awesome build but that thing will be crazy to ride when done.

Great build, but I think your frame wants a diagonal tube adding to the steering tube. It looks like you've made a parallelogram which is not a stable shape. Adding one more tube makes two triangles..

@@BuiltByBailey while we're at it, you're definitely going to want more brakes. I had a Grom with a 4 pot brembo caliper up front. Those guys sell the adaptor part. Works great with a cbr600f2/3 master cylinder and a stainless steel line. That said, I never had 80bhp, there's a fair to good chance you'll be cooking front discs on every ride out 😄
