In the '60's 727's provided regular service to an airport near me that doesn't have ANY regular service now. That would be KLEW (actually in Auburn) and the 727's were in the lovely NorthEast Airlines "Yellowbird" livery. BTW: You've got X-Plane looking great, I almost didn't recognize it. (The trees being the primary "tell".)

I live near the Oakland County airport "KPTK" in Michigan and the IFL group has two cargo 727s, N215WE and N216WE that are quite often taking off from there, I'm about 10 miles away and I can tell when one of these two has taken off from inside of my house. They aren't all gone. Also the decent rate at landing is hard here because they have ridiculous flaps. Try landing at less than full flaps.

Hey! I’m from Waterford too! My uncle is one of two main airport managers and I took tours of both those 727s at the open house (back when they did that) I’ve had those jets fly over my house at around 2k altitudes and even then they are really loud. Also kptk is Ifl flight group’s headquarters. They also fly some falcon 50s and a convair 580. They mainly fly bulk loads of GM car parts. See my channel I just uploaded a video from that airport

Stage III hush kits aren’t all the effective, they work and mainly reduce the crackle in the sound, but still are loud as hell and still piss off NIMBYs and airports. I honestly don’t see a point in them because it’s not going to make NIMBYs bitch any less. All it does is add additional weight and reduces performance and thrust.

One of the most beautiful aircraft ever made. Would be awesome if Boeing made a modern liner based off of it. I think it would do well. The key would be getting the fuel economy and the range balanced out for the modern market. Even though I know it will never happen, it never hurts to dream!
