ESPN trashed the idea of Jokic getting three straight MVPs because of "lack of playoff success" despite it being a regular season award. They'd better keep the same energy for the early exit king.

If im the 76ers I'm fsfs trading Embiid this season while he is still valuable and then I'd build around Maxey, any superstar brought in would be brought in to be Maxey's 2. I think this is a issue with alot of teams where they're just too afraid of letting the new guy run the show. I mean think about it... why would a superstar need to be the 1 when you have a rising star who would benefit you more by becoming the #1 with the support of an already established vet. Why is every word in this "Embiid shouldn't have been forced to play." "We haven't seen if he can handle a deep playoff run." "Tyrese Maxey (who scored over 30ppg in a playoff series after single handedly leading the squad most of the season) may not be 'that guy.' " Why is it all these annoying bullshit excuses for Embiid? His bullshit playstyle directly causes his own injuries. He deserves it by throwing himself on the ground every single play of every single game every single year. He earns his injuries. But let's not hold him accountable. "Hey, that's management. He shouldn't have been playing. You know who's really ass? All of his teammates for the past 5+ years. Oh, yeah. They ass." I don't understand how Embiid is this innocent guy that can't be held accountable. And he played dirty as shit all series. He's grabbing ankles like he's Kurt Angle. He's throwing elbows and begging for a foul. He jumps split leg with no defender around just praying for a foul instead of trying to hit a shot. How is any of that not his damn fault?

His injuries ain’t even the cause for his injuries. He had a foot and a knee injury before he even got the league and before he was even flopping. His team besides from maxey was just ass. In game six he put on a show and the team still played ass. There’s nothing more you could’ve asked of him. To me, if a player is 30 years old, have made the playoffs many times, and you are still asking, "Can X player be healthy for an entire postseason" the answer is most likely no. Occam's Razor and all that jazz. On another note, players who make $40+ million a year should be expected to be available for 90-100 games every season including playoffs. Sorry not sorry. Injuries do happen, I understand. I'll give grace for a couple of injury-riddled seasons. Playing in about 75% of available games in your career should not be a giant ask for a superstar.

I never understood why embiid never cut the weight. He’s probably been playing off his ideal weight by like 20-25lbs his whole career. And that gets compounded by the fact that he likes to hit the floor when fouled. Compound that with the dirty play… it’s tough, but hey, they should have probably traded him once he was looking like an MVP early this season because his value was high. These teams’ front offices need to start doing a better job to risk assess… who cares how good Joel embiid is… his body is not built to go an 82 game season and then follow it up with like 20 more games. You can’t win with him, so why keep him? He’s about to be out of his prime soon and has never been healthy. For all the flack that AD gets, I have to at least commend him-you can see he’s tried to get to a healthy weight. He came into the league too small, and he fixed that by packing on muscle. AD, actually has a worst physical profile when it comes to his ability genetically to keep from being injured, but he’s somehow playing more games than Embiid, deeper into his career… and AD can probably cut back down a good 10 lbs himself and stay off the floor a bit more too.
@they.m.o.podcast9974
@they.m.o.podcast9974 Ай бұрын
This makes no sense. AD’s frame is completely different. And it is also hard to cut a ton of weight for Embiid with the type of injuries he’s gotten (lower body). That takes constant activity and puts way more stress on his body/legs. It would be best if he got in shape, which he has been for his size. He’s just had awful injury luck (Palsy being a recent injury).
@KG-kq9tk
@KG-kq9tk Ай бұрын
@they.m.o.podcast9974. 🤦Completely false. Cutting weight is incredibly easy with just a little dedication. You eat less calories. That is it. He would not need to do more exercise than he already does. And he holds a lot of his extra weight IN his legs, butt, and thighs. That's part of the problem on his knees. He is easily at LEAST 30 lbs overweight. I say more like 40. About 15 upper body and 25 in his lower. Also, there are exercises he could do that put little to no strain on his lower body IF he did want to lose weight even faster along with eating less. Things like light biking, boat rowing, and swimming. If he had 1/4th the dedication of a guy like Kobe, all of this is easily implemented for a guy with that much money and access to training facilities and personal chefs. All he has to do is drop his fat and carb intake until he loses the weight, keep eating the appropriate amount of protein for his size, and his body would reshape and lean out. He would also get injured less often in the first place without eating so much sugar and carbs.

Lowkey I think the future is bright for the Sixers. They fixed their head coaching problem, they are getting off a ton of cap space from Buddy and Tobi's expiring contracts and realistically Joel was not fully healthy in that series but was still able to play pretty solid. Honestly the biggest issue I have with them is I don't think you trust Joel to stay healthy for a full season and if not they might want to cut their losses while his value is at an all time high but that is obviously risky cause top 5 players aren't easy to get. Personally if I was a Sixers fan I would be disappointed that we did not win in the post season this year but I am not panicking by any means. I think it totally comes down to how this offseason goes for them cause it is a make or break offseason imo.

You must be assuming lol You said it yourself we spent multiple years going through “the process” we aren’t content with anything less than a championship and imo that’s some of the reason why you didn’t see support this yr in the playoffs because people knew this Sixers roster didn’t have a chance at a championship. Sixers fans are getting fed up …

To be fair, I and most people that aren’t blinded by the Sixers hype, knew this team was worse then lat year or any other team the Sixers put together so far. This was obviously going to happen. But the person who deserves the most blame is Daryl Morey. Idk what he was thinking while putting this team together. 🤦‍♂️ the fact that he didn’t trade Tobias and now he’s gonna walk, the fact that Kelly was the only good signing, the fact that this team had NO DEFENSE when Joel was off the floor. This is all Daryl’s fault and dude is a horrible GM. I guess he never heard off role players. He had the chance to get OG and didn’t pursue it, same with Bojan. The dude was so in love with Tobias that when the fans told him to trade him they joked about fans wanting to trade him for a crumble cookie. I’m so mad a Daryl and I have no faith that he can put together a great team. We don’t need another superstar like PG13, although would be nice, we a TEAM around Maxey and Embiid. Maybe if we got Paul George for a deal, which won’t happen, then it would be nice to have bc Embiid is ALWAYS injured in the playoffs, but Daryl doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. Unless he wasted this year on purpose bc he has a plan but I doubt that.

Ben Simmons ended up being a bust, James Harden didn’t work out and they gave Tobias Harris a max deal. The future is looking bright with the progression of Maxey and this summer is really promising if the front office makes the right decisions.

Idk why Embiid signed that extension, sixers org has shafted him for years. Drafting Okafor #1, Fultz #1, Simmons #3 then going all in on Tobias Harris over Butler. The 6ers is a shambles
@they.m.o.podcast9974
@they.m.o.podcast9974 Ай бұрын
The only one I disagree with is Fultz, pre-injury he was the consensus choice had he fallen to them at 3. And at 1, he was the clear choice. NO ONE saw that coming. Harris was a terrible move. Simmons would have worked had Fultz been healthy and who he was coming out of college, a 3 level scorer and good passer/facilitator.

Fact. That Harris trade literally cost them Butler and sustained contention. Also, Ben Simmons ego didn’t help that situation at all. Keeping JJ and Butler over Harris WITH Simmons would have made them a perennial contender, barring catastrophic injuries.

This video gives the impression you are a believer in James Harden as a major building block of a title contender. Sure Sixers would have been better with James Harden, but not much and likely still would get bounced in the first round in seven games. More importantly you can't honestly believe the Sixers should have maxed out Harden like he demanded, such a contract would be a basketball death sentence.
