Last week we discussed Kenpachi Azashiro, AKA Soya Azashiro, the 8th Kenpachi. This week we take a look at his predecessor, Kenpachi Kuruyashiki. Not much is known about the 7th Kenpachi, but the stuff we do know is pretty interesting and give us the general gist of his character and abilities.
All the information based around the 7th and 8th Kenpachi can be found in one of the Bleach Light Novels, Spirits Are Forever With You (SAFWY).

I’m Not Faded Anymore 7th only lost because his Bankai was banned. Had his Bankai been allowed he would have won and killed everyone in the Soul Society...I think that’s how large his aoe is.

I didn't expect for a guy with his abilities to get defeated so easily especially when we heard about how his abilities are so broken that it had to be banned by central 46 I thought he'd be monster

@Nikolai Rose I'm pretty sure his Bankai was also banned, it's just that if shit hits the fan like that the rules don't matter much. I assume the bans are there so Shinigami with extremely dangerous Bankai don't use them every other Wednesday. While most of the Shinigami with banned bankai are probably smart or reasonable enough to not use them frivolously guys like Kenpachi Zaraki most likely aren't.

Interesting character. One thing Kubo never touched and i hope he will one day if he ever comes back to writting BLEACH, is the cicle of the souls who die in the soul society and go to the world of the living. Imagine all the characters that Kubo could bring back like this one, Yamamoto Genryuusai, etc. They wouldn't have any of their previous life's memories but they'd have the same potential as fighters and the same pre desposition to fighting and similar personalities. Just an idea. Damn i really hope the BLEACH anime comes back as well as the manga.

Yeah but Soul Reapers who die from a Quincy their soul gets destroyed se they don't reincarnate. But if they die from any other cause they do

1st kenpachi was Unohana then she left the position and someone else filled it,then it continued till 7 th where Kuryushiki became the kenpachi then died to azashiro who used his Bankai to defeat his sealed state but a win's a win none the less, then azashiro was imprisoned and 9th took over then 10th and finally Kenny defeated him and became the kenpachi.

Wonder how the thousand year blood war would have changed if he was with Squad 0? Also its kind of annoying that he didn't go with them having someone with the title of kenpachi in the 0 squad, would have made them look so much cooler especially considering he could have taught ichigo and the others to fight in his own palace of battle. Rest, Eat, get the zanpaktou remade, get used to the spiritual pressure with ichibei, get a new outfit from senjumaru and then train with Kuruyashiki then off they go.

Not all of them have been revealed though. To my knowledge, the only ones we know of so far are Unohana (1st), Kuruyashiki (7th), Azashiro (8th), Kiganjo (10th) and Zaraki (11th).

Yes. But not when we see him in the anime. He actually degrades himself from a vasto lord before the events of bleach. He and his brother were basically one hollow but he split himself to have total control over himself and hence lost a part of his power.

@@kenzoyokito2674 He did lose to Gerard. He was saved by Mayuri against Pernida. Askin might be intresting. He would not be able to defeat Lille. Zaraki is strong, but not so great against tricky opponents, especially not the broken ones like Gerard.... how many fought Gerard, and he still manages to be standing ever stronger, only lost because of Auswahlen. Of all characters I think Gerards ability is one of the strongest. Lile was untouchable, Shunsui was lucky to have a good set of abilities that matched it. And even then... Askin and Pernida are possible for Zaraki, but idk how easy it would be for him.

So you’re telling me he lost to a guy who has shit spiritual preassure, before that mean you would be useless against your opponent if they had significantly higher spiritual presssure, like aizen negating soifon shikai, ichigo slapping away aizen’s kido, ulqiorra just taking ichigo’s getsuga tensho and it does nothing. So why are we reverting real power and just saying who has the best hacks Win? By that definition barragan solo’s the entire bleach verse, Even tho what would happen if someone if touched by the ability but have a lot more spiritual preassure would just be able to stand in it and say ‘lol xd’

You mean, like how Aizen was KOed for 5 minutes by a weaker quincy, right? How Mayuri managed to stab and poison Kenpachi, right? Aizen also had everyone under hypnosis, so there's no definitive proof, that he resisted Soi Fon's shikai. She could've stabbed ice for all we know. Spiritual pressure isn't everything.

RUS 12389 so why would he give us that line of dialogue? When talking to soifon? Cause if momo took all of their attacks and not just toshiro’s she would be dead but only toshiro’s attack hit her. Also forget yammy, that was just dumb about him being the strongest but then being beat by eyepatch kenny and byakuya then kenny saying ‘it was a lousy fight’ bleach is inconsistant for sure. Also people Get stronger as the series goes on which is nice so that side characters/captains etc stay relative, but yamamoto at the arrancar arc must have Been stronger than aizen yet he was also under hypnosis so its weird

Hi. Soya’s spiritual pressure is one of the highest in the series while he his sword in bankai. Remember your sword literally increases your spiritual pressure (see: literally every time a bankai was used to beat a stronger opponent than their shikai). So the whole idea of spiritual pressure doesn’t fall apart from Soya winning

to be honest, his abilities don't seem impressive to me. So many disappointing Bankais have been revealed in the novel that only have specific use. What next? Ukitake's bankai can absorb only once but makes the attack trice as strong?
