Nostalgia can be tough as you age, I guess depending on how you look back. My brain wants to look back and miss all the different phases of my life, but 1) my brain ruminates on the bad parts and 2) I feel loss/depression about not being able to go back or experience it again.

The egg theory is truly enlightening. Seeing yourself through the eyes of the one who broke your heart or was broken by you truly puts life into perspective.

I’m happy to see so many people reference the egg theory segment. I would love it if you spliced it and posted it as a separate video. Content creators post videos titled “you should watch this every morning” to refer to some practice or some notion that would make you more aware of your own being and help you to live your day with intention. I believe this segment, given its own space, would be one of those videos. It says just about everything I have come to understand about spiritual teaching and existential thinking. I’m a fiber optic splicer/technician for the last 23 years and I have a newer coworker we all refer to as Dunning Kruger because he can extrapolate huge amounts of information from substandard data and then act with supreme confidence. I tend to fix a lot of things he’s worked on

The Egg Theory really does resonate with me. I had a terrible hospital visit in 2017 in which I had died under surgury for 20 minutes. When I was gone, I had a sense of calming solitude in which nobody had greeted me or walked with me. I strongly believe that it was not my time and I was brought back for a reason, but with your explanation that everyone around is basically me but not really me is overwhelming. In the sesne that I could be the worst and best version of myself on different timelines. It's not a crazy idea but its worth taking note of.

I thought life couldn't get worse when my fiancé died by suicide. I named my son after him and 16 years later, my son by the same name died by suicide. I am all too familiar with the black swan theory. I was the chicken carried to the slaughter house twice, but instead of at least ending my misery at the betrayal i have to live on in it.

Starting off with the swan is brilliant. Black swan is next to the cave shadows story on understanding the core of philosophy. People focus too much on *a* philosophy, when we should always be questioning and 'trying' different views, forcing different biases on ourselves to better understand and be aware of them-rather than observing them through a looking glass; Which leads to said Black Swan.

The egg is one of my favorite short stories of all time.

The Krueger effect is something I’ve never heard of but experienced it for years without knowing. Especially in the car enthusiast world I usually stay quiet on certain subjects because I know how much there is to know but listening to others spew misinformation fascinates me.

I heard that Egg theory a long time ago when I was a teen. It totally changed how I think. It made so much sense to me that I was prepared to follow this philosophy or religion. I can easily emphasize with people because they are me. It also made sense why some people are evil and some are kind and understanding, those evil people are the version of me who was still in the early stage of conception, they don't know much but themselves. Those kinder versions of me are the more matured ones who reached a reasonable point of enlightenment. It also aligned with buddhism's "We are One" and Christian's "Do to your neighbors what you want to be done unto you"...makes me wonder what if Jesus was our final Form? He did ascend with his reincarnated body

That bit about the chicken really struck fear into me, "oh my god why am I here" "where is my owner" "I was so sure that he loved me", what if we are all just chickens in some slaughterhouse we can't comprehend, where we are given a grace period before eventually being taken away by what we perceive as our bodies failing, only for something to happen that blows our minds and makes us scared and angry that we can't tell ones who are living about it. This somehow doesn't make me feel bad for chickens.

I've been listening to theories about philosophy for most of my life. I settled on believing that there is only one Soul, and it is not limited by time or space, and we are ALL reincarnations of the same person. It makes it easier to be decent, considering I'm also the other person in another life. It also explains why so many of the women I know have been Cleopatra.

I knew most other children didn't like me growing up, but it never occurred to me to try to do anything about. I didn't change for them bc it never occurred to me to care about anything from anyone else's perspective but mine.

I subscribe to "fail and fail quickly" When you have multiple choices , all of which seem to have value etc , its best not to waste time or Hold back out of fear that you're not choosing the "winner", its better to , get to , trying and failing (ie, fail & fail quickly) , ive found this way to be the most efficient and comprehensive stratagy for reaching ultimate success.

Something strange just happened to me so I will share. My Dads birthday is today Sept 2 1934…he would have been 89. Starting my day thinking of him I went to the corner store. My total was 19.94 …the year he died. Almost 30 years ago. While thinking of him already because it is the day he was born as soon I heard the total 19.94 the year he died kinda tripped me out. I just wanna argue one point you made in which you pose the question: when was the last time you read a book about someone who failed? And the answer is… many, many times. Many psychoanalysts and philosophers died poor and unknown. A lot were even ridiculed and hated during their lives. It wasn’t until after they died as failures that people finally realized the value of their work. This extends to a lot of musicians, artists, and so on.

Please continue what you're doing! I really like your content and how you simplify complex and absolute concepts in a captivating manner.

Ostracization is an efficient but hard to use tool. On one hand, it's used as a tool to defend against specific types of people. On the other hand, it can easily be manipulated as a weapon to attack people. After a certain point, it becomes hurtful rather than helpful.

I’m big on knowing the correct information before spouting off verbal diarrhea. I tell my kids all the time if you don’t know something then look it up because nothing is worse than someone who thinks they know what they’re talking about and they clearly don’t. It’s so easy to look up information in today’s world and there’s no reason not to, but I also tell them to be careful of where you’re getting your information from because that could be just as bad as speaking without knowing what you’re talking about, talking with incorrect information.

I was always told gossip is talking about someone else when the situation has nothing to do with you or when you were told in confidence. Not when you talk about how someone impacts you.

These videos are very high quality. The constant commercials make the content borderline unwatchable without an add blocker. I get that creators want to get paid but there's a point where it's just overkill.
