Just ordered one of these, thanks for the excellent video and test. I appreciate that you don't have any bias in your tests, even when the company supplies the product to you. I even called D4S and asked about mounting dimensions, which are not listed on their site, and they took measurements for me, great customer service.

I reached out to JP a while back and the dude was super nice and fast with his replies. Hope he is doing well, and although the amps look cool, i kinda wish we can start a new "modern era" of amplification as far as aesthetics.

Just got mine in and am very happy. Sound quality is way better than I expected for a $203 amp shipped and she's doing work. The bass remote is the best one by far I have ever seen. Voltage, temperature and clipping all together. You the man JP. I put this in my older truck as a test as I'm going to do something in my newer truck. Not in a hurry but if this one does fine for the next month I'm probably going the JP23 JP234 combo for $600 I can't see going wrong. If you listening JP I'm sure you get alot of silverado sierra customers, a 6.5 4x6 combo would be 👌. I see the other combos but I ain't about cutting my doors all up.

Bought this amp as soon as I saw BigD’s first video, I cannot believe it’s still selling for $200. I should buy a couple more. I’ve beat the piss out of this amp and never had any issues. This is a $3,000 amp if this was the 90s or early 2000s.

Thank you for all the tests and videos you do. I know this one is older but it helped me pick a jp8 for my dally drive 09 rav4. Long story short I am a old bass head that after 20years is getting back in to it with my 17 year old daughter. I ended up with 2 skar sdr dvc 2ohm 10" out of a box I picked up for her truck. I am running them at 0.5 ohm on a jp8 with 4g ofc no other power upgrades. 13.8v untill I really push it and it will pull some power but has not popped the 200amp fuse. I love the remote as well not going to lie it was a factor in my interest before the Dino test. After the tests I got one for me car and one for the build for my daughter's first system 😅

This line of amps will go down in history as LEGENDS! I just picked up a JP23 v2 and WOW. Absolutely insane. I really can't find any flaws other than the digital readout on the bass knob being a tad too bright, mainly at night. A small piece of tint will fix that! On the 1st night that I was testing my JP23, my temps got up to 127 degrees F before I tapped out! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Definitely an awesome amp! My fan comes on as soon as it’s powered up. Emailed D4S about that situation and I was told it’s normal. The description of the amp states that it supposed to come on at 120 . JP had a video out on the JP8 and even stated that the fan cuts on at 120 degrees.

50c is a pretty good place to be while playing half rated power into lowest recommend impedance. Unlike these Brazilian amps, the heatsink looks as though it can hold its own, passivly. But it's a massive plus in my book, to have a continuously varying fan speed so at the lights or just bumping in the driveway, you have that nice SQ noise floor, and when you require 120dB+, 130dB+ etc the fan doesn't become audible and bothersome. It's these little things that make a great amp you respect for years to come! (Unlike my obnoxiously loud ass single-speed, full-time Alpine V12 amps fan, it ready let's such a sweet sounding amp down quite a lot)

Hey Big D, I have an idea. Why don't you start taking each amp and do an spl test with the Kicker L7 Quad Box. That way we can get a taste of what sound pressure levels we might see using each amp. Maybe even do a comparison of several amps in the same power level to compare spl. I think that would be pretty cool.

My arms are hotter than 115° f during the summer I my trunk before I even play my stereo. That's the desert for you I stay with Fosgate I can deal with heat. This might be my new favorite 👍🏽

Also, give the .25 ohm test to a US Amps...I'm sure you've either heard of them, owned one or two, or even had one on the dyno. St. Petersburg, FL (same place Skar is from). I owned a 124x4 .25 ohm stable US Amps and I loved it!

I wonder what exact model of fan D4S uses. I'd like to incorporate those... running almost silent. Also, it would be cool if there was a way to adjust the fan modulator (controller) to have it turn on at a lower temp.

When I first looked at the amp. It looks like the old school amps in the 90's US Amps.. Back in the days they were known as the cheater amps. The amp was rated at 500 w @ 4 ohms but does 1500 w @ 0.5 ohms.. Competition like ISACA rated amps at a 4 ohm load not what it would actually do.. Competition was rated in power class in a car... Was very cool back then.
