I'm on Level 5, wanting to learn more of the fandom, but I'm also shy at the same time. I'm also thinking to delve into the rp side of the fandom, but I'm oftenly shy. I hope the furries I meet in the future are supportive and nice! I think I'm a forever level 2, but I do actually match some traits from level 5 in the sense that I did convert a character into a temporary fursona.. because it was actually easier to make drastic artistic changes to them, before converting them back into more of a "demi-human". Although I do occasionally still draw em back in the furry form just because it looks nice.

genuine question: how does ventilation work in the fur suits? it seems stuffy to run around a convention with a thick suit on. but it’s great craftsmanship

You get 0 ventilation unless the person who made your suit (it could be yourself) put a fan it or something. Most suits have an open mouth so it’s easier to breath but it still gets hot and stuffy

As the levels got farther the more I realized that wow I’m at level 5 I fell hard down and I quite enjoy it, I found it as an outlet for some of my feelings and express deeper emotions that I suppressed through out the years. Being in the fandom for how short of a time I have been about 8 months or so I’ve figured out that one my higher developed characters is my better self and helps me understand myself even further than I can just by thinking about it. I entered this fandom to understand more about the culture since my boyfriend is in it too and isn’t shy about it but as I delved deeper I realized that it could improve my art which turned into creating characters that lead to me putting my unknown feelings and to help express myself even further and find myself in them. I am glad to say that I have grown through this fandom and that my understanding of myself has grown along with it. Thank u for reading my realization and that may all you out there feel comfort and know that I call this fandom as part of myself through my art and the slow and constantly interrupted (due to me constantly getting distracted) creation of my first fursona.

I started off with ivycomb shorts in my reccomended and liking that. then I got reccomendations for beta. liked that. then Kris yim. then jikerdor. then roo. then I felt like I was a furry. then asked a coworker who is one. decided to genuinely look into it. searched up another dozen furry channels, joined discords and now I'm getting an artist to do my sona. and I couldn't be happier. I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I have all the creators out there to thank and everyone on the community being so accepting. I'll do you all proud

I usually watched animation content on KZfaq and a good majority off it was furrie content, and only about a week ago did I realise I was becoming a furrie. So I did research into it and found your 7stages (or 9 stages now) and it really helped me understand being a furrie a bit more, and as of now I can officially say I’m currently in stage 4.5, so thanks for that :)

My start into the furry fandom was when I was looking for a reference design for a fighting game character. That character was an anthropomorphic hawk named Edge. Another character was a werewolf, so looked up that too, then started think about what other "anthropomorphic" animals are there. I don't remember how else I got into there after that though. I saw KZfaq videos, fursuits for the first time, and I just thought "oh cool." It kinda became an addiction for a while after that tho, and about 6 months in I realized I was a furry.

I'm now a 7, or 6 but here's my achievements -Joined the Fandom -looked at interesting art -made my first art - made my first fursona (wocky) -started to be a bit more social about it. -i have friends who understand it - i told my parents (they thought it was weird) - thinking about going to a con -commisoned my first art by suprise (It may seem like tiny lot but its because I forget!!!)
