I always refer to the 1964 to the early 2000s as its glory years.

@@Wheels-Wheels-Wheels Well,a wooden block and a glockenspiel were added by mr hunt after some well known historian of fairground organs suggested it to him.Between 2010 and when Alan Marchington bought maintenance of it got less and less and it lost its once grandeur,thankfully Alan has improved its playing and its now begining to sound much better.

@@RaggyAl1971 Thanks for the information. Glad to hear there haven't been any radical alterations other than that. I really used to enjoy listening to Wonderland in it's original status when it appeared at Dorset. Not convinced that the additions improved it though.

@@Wheels-Wheels-Wheels No,quite agree although its been said that chiappa's never got round to fitting them when they were building the organ. If you haven't already done so check out my 1955 Wonderland recording on my channel,the organ sounds quite different to what it became after 1963.

I'd forgotten how well it sounded on this recording. Some nice old books.

It sounded rather grand back then and in recent years its started to sound a lot better than it has in quite a few years,2010 to the when the present owner bought it were the worst it played in years,lack of maintenance was really begining to show.

Indeed, it sounded very good here! Luckily it seems to be being brought up to scratch in recent years.

@@MechanicalMusicRecordings It sounded quite different back in 1955 when Eroika Recording Services recorded it.I have a number of tracks of it from the LP on my computer.

@@MechanicalMusicRecordings I'm pretty sure there was a Vol 2.The person to ask is James Dundon on Mechanical Music Radio,he has vol1 and loads of other wonderland tracks.
