The initial water change was as per usual. The pH crash may be due to the sardines and the ammonia from the poop. Went out to the aquarium shop. Was advised to get as much corals to bring the pH back up.

Are they slow glower? Im still reconsidering on getting one when I saw it today at the shop

They start off a bit slow. They grow faster if given live feeders. I'd suggest live baby tilapia and catfish. Provide ample tank space too. Mine took a bit longer to grow as I didn't upgrade its tank on time.

i noticed you used the saltwater chart to test. any reason why?
@AidaMay Жыл бұрын
The brand used was API ammonium test kit, which is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater. Perhaps it's just the chart name. I've gotten a new test kit. Will be trying it out tomorrow

What happened

I'm not entirely sure. It may have been caused by the sardines as they are very oily fish. I noticed that there was a lot, a lot more poop than usual. Perhaps it was indigestion. In aquarium groups online, people has commented that it may be been due to the drop in pH. The aquarium shop owner recommended that I add more corals into the sump tank.
