I swear some of that artwork looks so realistic ........ those old Disney artists were really something. Thank you for posting this
@spamcan92084 жыл бұрын
It might be rotoscoped. Basically animators would draw over the footage frame by frame.
@emmettturner9452Ай бұрын
Is it Disney? I mean, it could be but I only see GM mentioned. I doubt GM had an animation department so they probably contracted out to a studio like Disney but I don’t see anything saying who it was contracted with.

The credits are missing, but this was in fact produced in 1945 for General Motors, who held the copyright. Production was in fact done by Walt Disney, believe it or not, who created some industrial films like these back in the 40s.

sha 1om, well done to give credit where credit is due. Your note aptly points out the inter-relationships fostered by manufacturing. I was one of the last of a line when I started my pipefitting apprenticeship in 1982, completely in-house, at Eastman Kodak. Classes had been continuous from '37 to '82 then were interrupted for a few years, then irregularly until the '00s. Tragic loss.

High schoolers have to much going on to be into the trades that are so heavily looked down upon. What you need to do is be showing this to kids in grades 4-8 and introducing them to it earlier. They ditched shop class up here in Canada in high school years ago. I’d like to see it in public school with the basics and hand tools in mind. Now. With the obvious danger involved with even such simple tools as a chisel. Or even a screwdriver really… there would have to be quite a bit of supervision for the kids to ever get their hands on and try a lot of tools. But I’m sure a boat load of parents would volunteer with some time. Anyways just a thought.

I learned so much from this 75 year old program! Even in late 1980s shop class I didn't learn these things still relevant in today's world. Life may revolve around apps, but people still have homes that need maintenance, and unless you want to be at the mercy of today's contractors it's critical to know these things.

Love those old cartoons and their funnies, for example Primitive Pete is made at first to look like some hulking caveman and then revealed to be a little guy :DHowever, the video is incorrect to claim that humans live in caves. Some did, but human is a plains ape evolved to run distance.
