I loved it too, as someone who was diagnosed with mild Asperger's Syndrome, i really enjoyed the heck out of it and i was'nt offended at all, because Ben Affleck's performance is really really good!.

I feel like this is Ben Affleck's "Bourne" movie, his pal Matt Damon has killed playing Bourne and Affleck wants his chance to shine.

I know this isn't a complaint for everyone here but it REALLY bugged me when he was trying to crack the accounting case but was adding everything up sequentially instead of using T-accounts.

I also thought the film was a complete mess, with a central story that lacked any interest and a payoff coming out of nowhere. Affleck was good, though. I think, they should have just concentrated on him and Kendrick and the social problems, backing it up with tough childhood and leave the whole fighting and killing and the J.K. Simmons plot out of the movie. (The latter really didnt have any purpose other than provide unnecessary backstory). They really didnt know what story they wanted to tell.

This film has a lot going for it, from the trailer that doesn't give away too much, good job on that, to the well handled action without too many cliches, and with just the right amount of fight scenes, I really enjoyed this one as I went with no expectation, to answer Mark's question about why is he too many things at the same time, well we know 2 things about him he's very smart and he's socially awkward which brings out an aggressiveness that needed to be channeled, and his father did just that with his background and all by teaching how to defend himself and even encouraging him to fight, and that was in my opinion the best explanation to who he was and how he became to be "Dexter" comes to mind. Overall, I feel this is a great action thriller and very much worth checking out, easily the best action thriller this year, if you compare this to the latest Bourne for example or the recent silly Jack Reacher, they don't stand a chance.

It's crazy that well written action thrillers like these get overlooked for generic action films like the fast franchise, absolutely criminal. I loved every aspect of this movie.

Mary and Beard here right on the money as per usual. I watched this film earlier in the week and absolutely loved the first half. Then when Captain Exposition, played by Simmons, came in, the film slowed down to a standstill and I never got into it again. There is a twist in the last minute that I loved, however.

I thought it was a great movie, which did a good job weaving together it's different story elements. Certainly not 'incoherent', which suggests the story either doesn't make sense or is being told in a way that makes it not comprehensible. It was perfectly understandable to me.

Surprised to see Anna Kendrick hold her own. I was first introduced to this terrific actress in Twilight. It took me awhile to get the courage to see her in anything else. :) She's bloody terrific. Frankly, her 'nerdy herd' behaviour in this film together with the compassion she has towards Mr Super -Power Accountant fully engaged me more than Affleck. Kendrick is never disingenuous (excluding Twiblight -entirely not her fault)

I really enjoyed it when I saw it at the theatre and have watched it on tv and dvd since and enjoyed it each time. I used to watch Mark’s reviews regularly but more recently I have been disappointed in Mark as a critic because he seems to evaluate film on the basis of political correctness or whether he agrees with the politics of the film maker/ star. Consequently I stopped watching his shows and thought I’d give him another go but alas he still disappoints. Ah well, looks like I’ll have to rely on other film critics for suggestions about where to spend my money.

It is a brilliant film. The trouble with people like Mark Kermode is that they are always trying to understand and dissect any film they watch, rather then just enjoying it. Yes there are gaps in the plot, but who actually cares about them. I just enjoyed a great film which kept me on the edge of my seat, and there was a wonderful plot twist right at the end, that I never saw coming.
