Something that should be said is even though Ki-Adi-Mundi dismissed Qui-Gon's fight with Maul and Qui-Gon tells the High Council "I believe it was a Sith warrior", Ki-Adi-Mundi says "nope. don't believe you. they haven't been around for a thousand years." That does NOT mean in canon that the Sith haven't been around for a thousand years. In that same movie at the end Yoda says "ALWAYS two there are...". Last time I checked the definition of ALWAYS it is defined as "at all times". There have always been Sith they have simply been in the shadows. Ki-Adi-Mundi being in The Acolyte reinforces the canon because just like he dismissed Qui-Gon's experience, he did the same to Sol 100 years prior by dismissing Sol's belief that Mae doesn't know her master, he also dismisses that Mae was trained by "something darker" than a splinter group. Ki-Adi-Mundi is in Star Wars as THE poster boy for the arrogance of the Jedi not wanting to believe the Sith are around.

So many are taking 'Qimir's' words to be an admission of being a Sith, but what he actually says is that he has no name and that it's the JEDI who would label him a Sith. Think that might be an important distinction. Thought the fight choreography was refreshing and brutal, and though I'm sad to have lost Jecki and Yord, at least their deaths were memorable!
@michelebozza1591

It seems plausible that hidden knowledge of the Sith would be around in hidden places so that dark side users or simply "rebels" from the jedi would take the name. This doesn't make Quimir a Rule of Two Sith, Tenebrous and Plagueis are probably somewere else right now, doing their things, probably happy that some upstart is taking the jedis' attention away

People keep saying nobody knows about the Sith, but at the end of Phantom Menace Yoda and Mace clearly were aware of them. How would they know there is always a master and apprentice unless the Jedi (even if only the Grand Masters) were privy to this knowledge. The original rule of two concept was in effect when Phantom Menace came out and the rule of two wasn't devised by Darth Bane until after the Jedi-Sith war concluded and the Sith thought wiped out. Some Jedi had to have encountered a Sith duo at some point in those thousand years and reported it for Yoda to be aware of the rule of two. If the Jedi are aware of the prophecy, then they should know that at the end of a thousand years the Sith would return. Implying they are still around in hiding even if they never encountered one.

The Jedi had a pretty good library in the prequels. Personally I hate the rule of two. It's stupid and locks the writers into a box. It's also nearly impossible to enforce. It's a big galaxy so how do they know if there are more? Also, the Sith live by breaking rules, not following them.
@crescendyr8438

@@nimz8521 It's been diminished in the newer stuff. Now they can still have tons of lackies (like Inquisitors), but only one true Master and Apprentice (Sidious and Vader). The point of the rule of two was to produce a stronger Sith each generation. As the apprentice had to kill the master, making for progressively stronger Sith through time. In the old days Sith had many apprentices and they would gang up on the master, before turning on each other. This resulted in weaker Sith moving forward. Everything about the old Sith Empire was very wasteful and counter productive. They usually thwarted themselves instead of it being the Jedi.

Honestly, if you compare him one-on-one with the ones we know: Dooku, Palpatine, Kylo, or even Maul... this one is better. I would say he's only comparable to Darth Anakin/Vader from Rogue One.

The Jedi of this era are no strangers to lying and deception. Sol kept Maes existence from the Order. Master Vernestra wants to keep this investigation a secret. So it is absolutely possible that Ki-Adi-Mundi either lied in Episode I or he never learned that a Sith was involved in these killings.

I don't understand why so many reactors are missing this. The Jedi were like law enforcement with districts and precincts if you will. Vernestra is head of this branch and has already said we have to keep this under wraps. And people also are forgetting that there are two types of sith. The species and the religion. The species, red skinned, super tall, horned chins. Had been dead for over a thousand years at the time of the prequels. People practicing the Sith religion, Bane, Sidious, and others were in hiding so it's Ki-Adi could have easily been talking about the species.

Apparently the stranger's/master's/Qimir's helmet and brace/band around his left arm is made of a very rare material that is called cortosis. It can deflect blaster fire, stun rings, and lightsaber strikes, and can temporarily negate/short out lightsabers if it touches/hits the emitter of the lightsaber blade. However, it is fibrous and much more brittle compared to Beskar armor, because with repeated strikes, a lightsaber can still cut through it 🤔.

Everybody loves to bring up that scene from the Phantom Menace and Ki-Adi-Mundi's line but most people forget what is happening in the scene. @Kat&Sonny, 23:43 I think Sol does know that he's with Mae--he spent the entire series up to this point calling Osha by name, Mae too, so why did he drop the names when he turned to Mae to ask, "Where's your sister?" I think Sol chose his words carefully. He and the others went to Khofar to extract Mae, so why jeopardize that by calling her out on her bluff? Get her on the ship so she can't run, again! "You're with me, I'm with you Always one, but born as two As above sits the stars, and below lies the sea, I give you you, and you give me me." --Mae & Osha's mantra They are two sides of the same coin. One represents the Light Side of the Force while the other the Dark Side. Their Mothers Aniseya and Koril hoped they would learn to work together, presumably to balance each other out. The Thread quite literally binds them together, much stronger than Luke and Leia's connection in the Force. Mae going with Sol and Osha being taken by Qimir will likely do what their mothers wanted, as they're going to learn things that'll fill their respective voids, giving them balance. Mae sees herself as the hero here. Why? We need to see the other side of what happened 16 years ago. I think we're going to learn that Qimir was there. One of the witches told the coven that the Jedi had sliced through their platform just before they walked into court without weapons in hand. Was the witch mistaken? Why did Mother Koril really get the girls out of the forest? It was implied that she was worried about the Jedi, but are the Jedi who she really feared? I think Mother Koril and Aniseya knew that they weren't the only ones on Brendok. The witches' coven and Sith more than likely formed a pact; they were both on the run, and they both wanted the same things. More importantly, Star Wars has already established that witches and Sith have a history of working together. Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus both went to the Nightsisters looking for apprentices. Personally, I think Sith are witches. Palpatines whole look screams witch/warlock! His decrepit look, bony fingers, and sickly eyes gave off witch vibes way back in ROTJ--he shoots Force-lightning from his fingertips like a witch casting a spell! Star Wars Rebels went out of its way to show Palpatine standing before a galaxy far, far away witch's cauldron--watch the scene where he finds Ezra in the World Between Worlds. The Sith are witches! I don't know if Qimir is the same type of witch Mother Aniseya and Koril were, but they are a witch of some sort. We also can't overlook the fact that this series tied this coven to Darth Plagueis via Mae and Osha's creation, but also mother Aniseya's explanation of the thread and Chancellor Palpatine's description of the Sith--the exact same words were used. That wasn't coincidental! I wouldn't be surprised if next week's episode is that much needed flashback that shows us Kelnacca fighting someone and the yet to be seen footage of Indara in a cockpit or something of the like? The episode after that will likely be the one teased with Vernestra igniting her lightwhip or whatever it's called. I can't wait to see how they wrap this up!

Really interested to see where they take the next three(???) episodes after this now that it's just Sol, Osha, Mae and Qimir as the major players. I know we'll have to eventually get a flashback to see what REALLY happened on the night with the witches and the fire, just hope it doesn't take up too much time. Thought this episode was great action-wise. Really didn't understand why Mae started fighting and running away from the Jedi immediately after deciding to give herself up in the previous episode? From that to going back to saying the Jedi are the bad guys? Maybe I missed something, but I really don't get that switch up. Have to say I really did roll my eyes when Sol was interrupted from and then decided not to kill Qimir. Disney SW seems to keep coming up with ways to get the Jedi to just...give up and walk away from their fights with mass murderers it seems? Even though they've made it clear they intend to kill again?
@arch1017
@arch1017 Ай бұрын
I thought the Mae thing is fairly straightforward really. She wanted revenge until she found out that Osha was alive, then her priority switched to reuniting with her, and she was going to barter information on her Master (where to find/contact him) for her freedom. She still doesn't like the Jedi, but she just wants to be with her sister again. She then finds the Jedi she intended to hand herself over to, dead, and her Master is outside. The information she had is now worthless because he knows she's betrayed him, and she knows that he will want her dead, so now her plan is just to survive and escape (with Osha in tow if possible). Osha sides with the Jedi, so she takes her clothes and leaves with Sol as that's the best way for her to escape her Master while also being in the ideal position to get her revenge against Sol if the opportunity arises. I know what you mean about Osha getting Sol to let Qimir live feeling a bit silly, but that's kind of the point, I feel. I'm guessing that the reason he had to let him go right then is that he would have been striking him down in anger, in that moment, which is the beginning of the path to the dark side. I think the show is deliberately exploring the inconsistencies and flaws in the Jedi way that ultimately allow Palpatine to infiltrate, exploit and ultimately destroy them in one hundred years.

They don't have to die in order for that one line from Phantom Menace to make sense. The Jedi seem to not want their political enemies to know about this at all because it would weaken their position and people in the galaxy would lose faith in them. They could easily hide what happened in order to protect their standing.

The fight scenes were great but the writing on this show is off. Why did Mae suddenly decide to turn herself in to Kelnacca because of her sister? But then when Jecki goes to arrest her, she fights her? Then at the end, she leaves Osha with her old master, who could kill her. Her motivations don't make sense. Had she just said I'm not killin this wookie, I'm out, that would have made more sense than claiming her sister being alive has changed everything. I'm enjoying show, but writing needs to be better.

I originally had a pretty negative opinion of this show but I also don’t want to be a part of the toxicity that this show has brought out on both sides. I want to enjoy Star Wars and although I believe this show has some issues, I’ve decided to not take the “throw out the baby with the bath water” approach and keep going and enjoy what I do like about the show. I can say episodes 4 & 5 have been the best so far. Withholding my judgement about the potential lore breaking Sith revelation until we see how it’s resolved. I’m not convinced he’s actually a Darth titled Sith. I do have to say that the lightsaber choreography has probably been about the best in Disney era live action. I also like the EU references to cortosis, I think this is the first cannon reference at least outside of comics.

Some people have felt Maes actions are inconsistent, but I disagree. Posted on last one, coming to terms that Osha is alive so revenge/justice is no longer her primary goal. Reuniting w Osha is. So she's going to turn herself into the jedi before her master can catch and kill her. But then here comes Qimir like... No. Well now turning yourself in to the jedi is a death sentence. She knows he's there to kill them all. Her only choice is run and hide. The only fighting she does is to get away. I think she's prepared to kill to get away, like with Jecki, bc Jecki is not giving up and if she is arrested that = death. Once Jecki is distracted by Qimir, she bails. In every fight, as soon as she thinks she can get away, she runs. Bc his only objective is kill everyone here and she knows it. Then she wakes up and he's not there, but she sees Osha and Sol. Being with Osha is her ultimate objective so she knocks out Sol. Osha is not having it and is "brainwashed" and we still don't know the truth of what happened, but whatever it is she feels she can't get thru with just words. So now she's taken her place. At this point, if she wanted Sol dead she could have killed him when he was knocked out. So what's her plan... She might still kill him, as a means to an end. She knows Osha cares about him tho so that could push Osha away. It's possible she wants to find evidence/expose the jedi to show Osha proof? Maybe? Idk, but I'm super curious as to where its going.

Which is bumming me out bc I can't tell if you circle around to this as a possibility, or what your other thoughts are, but I think there's a nonzero chance that Oshas memories are altered/unreliable due to force manipulation and if we saw that flashback from Mae's perspective it would be a totally different experience. Like she says they've brainwashed you bc what Osha is saying is so out of pocket. I'm kind of hoping that's what the next ep is? Great reaction as always. I also think its just crazy that people actually think a Star Wars show is going to break canon, its been completely obvious from the start that there will be a cover up, or all involved will die (Ki Adi will either cover it up and lie, or my guess is they will not tell him about the Sith). As you rightly said, people need to 'relax' and just watch the whole thing before making themselves, and the people who listen to them, look foolish by the end of the show (who's the bigger fool, the fool, or the fool who follows him!). To me its like reading a book, you dont finish a chapter and say the book is rubbish because something hasnt been explained yet or doesn't seem right, you finish the whole story before judging!

I can't wait to see Kelnacca with black eyes under witch control in a flashback in Episode 7 (IMDb) fighting Torbin and Sol!❤ I think Sol will recognize Mae. She may be able to hide her mark on her forehead, but she doesn't have a tattoo on her arm like Osha🤣 Very interesting how Qimir proved that it is possible to kill a Jedi without a weapon and without Jedi rules. It's very ironic that he killed Yord, the Jedi who lived strictly by the rules! I found the Kylo Ren Theme, which played when Qimir found Osha at the end, interesting. Maybe he was the first Knight of Ren? Greetings from Germany😊

Multiple comments for engagement! Also to separate my thoughts bc otherwise 1 comment would be like... rudely long. General feelings: bummed about Jecki and Yord. Those fights were incredible. Give that choreographer a raise. Thoughts and theories... Was he somehow trained by one of the witches? He can do mind tricks the same way they did. Like, if he turns out to really be sith, is he actually the #2 looking for his apprentice to train and help him become the #1? Alternative to the sith, people have pointed out that twice when Qimir was doing his thing, the Kylo Ren music played. Does that mean he is an early Knight of Ren. Or maybe he is the first Ren? All we know about them is that they were around before the galactic civil war, supposedly for centuries, but idk stories of the boogie man can be weird and unreliable. But they were around. Everything else we know is from Kylo's time when a group of raiders who claimed to be them or named themselves after the legend of the knights popped out of obscurity to fill the force power void left by the fallen jedi and sith. So maybe this is Qimir Ren, who actually starts the knights... collecting the acolytes he so desperately wants. Maybe Mae and/or Osha will be his first knight(s) at the end of the series. His vibe and outlook on the force is verrrry similar the theirs. If he is the first Ren, that would mean he's not a sith, no formal training or adherence to the sith ways, but there's not yet a name for what he actually is bc he hasn't yet formed the knights. And that's why he's like... Eh I'm not this, but it's the closest you can get so that's what you'd call me if you needed a label.
