This is the place for serious reptile lovers! We have tons of info for lizards, snakes, turtles, sulcata tortoises, terrapin, crocodiles, alligators, cherry head tortoise, wildlife conservation, stem and all sorts of scaly & misunderstood creatures. We also love to learn from other animal experts, like Paul Cuffaro, who are happy to share knowledge. That’s what Kamp Kenan is all about. We love reptiles and we know you do too. This is why we do what we do. Animal conservation in the modern world matters, we're out there living it and doing it every day. This is real life, these stories are real, and our sole purpose is to educate you so that you can learn something new every day and one day perhaps get involved yourself. It's that simple.
Let's create a new generation of educated animal enthusiasts and spread the love!

Love how quick Kenan was to call him out. “I don’t think that’s entirely accurate” 😂😂. I’m wondering where this guy heard that from.

It was 27 degrees last night in my part of Texas. I have my sulcatas in a greenhouse I just finished building. The hottest area stayed about 82 degrees. The coolest about 65 degrees. When the sun hits it, it will be in the 90s today, at least, in the hotspot. I use a radiator heater for overall heat, ceramic emitters for their hot spot and a tortoise heat mat for an in-between spot. The door has a doggy-door sort of setup where they come in and out as they like. I’m liking the whole greenhouse ideas👍🏻

@4:32 Kenan! My favorite quote of all time from the great Socrates!!!, “All I know, is that I know nothing.” It reminds me that I am constantly learning and growing. Thought you’d like that one! And it’s from your tortoise! Ha! No, the great philosopher, but how cool! So full circle. Xo

Back in the US, I used Cattle Panels. Bowed them a bit between the house and a sturdy board about 8 feet from the house. Sealed it at the top and bottom, and then covered inside with poly sheeting, made a gap with a 2X4 and put another layer of Poly sheeting. Insulated and nice for SC winters. Love that set up!

Yeah I didn't see that. I see a lot of skin being shed, but the iguanas all appear healthy. Do you have any real experience with reptiles? I mean other than KZfaq videos? Rubbing your dick raw doesn't count as experience. Sam has always cared very deeply for his animals and works closely with highly-regarded vets to ensure the health of his animals. Not only that, his dedication to his animals has provided vets and keepers with information on ailments and treating disease/sickness. There aren't many people who go to the same lengths as he does for his animals.

Hey Kenan. I have a couple of green iguanas (male and female pair) aged 4 yrs. The female laid eggs July '19 but I couldn't gather them. Mostly because of my fault of not giving her a proper substrate or medium to burrow in, to lay eggs. I've heard about a mixture of top soil and coconut peat aka cocopeat. Do you vouch for it? Do you think it would be a proper surface for them to move around and dig? Their enclosure is 9 ft x 6 ft. I'm trying to prep a bigger enclosure for them just to move around more freely. Please advise re the surface /soil. P.S. I'm from India.

I really enjoy this video! My son is color blind and we think is so cool you could view the world in a much different way than the rest of us. Also, you could construct those hoop house fairly cheaply with PVC. With metal, $1800 is really over priced. Is more like $600 for a 14x30 house.

Confucious (and me) say : "Pluck the true datums out of the confusion and all will be well." Sorry, not trying to be philosophical but this is about more than just the lizards. He wants as many warriors (maybe worriers also) as possible to come aboard and sometimes shotguns a hell of a lot of data. The thumbnail is a short message so cannot contain it all.

The only Leopard skink i can think of is the New Caledonian leopard skink (Lacertoides pardalis). In refrance to (1) the Kenyan zebra skink may be the only live-baring skink in Africa? If anyone can think of another skink species in Africa that are live-baring let me know, the only ones i can think of are egg layers, let me know.

Again I know this is an old video but those of you in the comments say about storms and hurricanes Hello we have had some kinda bad storms here and tornadoes have touched down certain places also but we don't get hurricanes or super bad like tropical storms here hell we very rarely have had tornadoes in PA and the ones we have had we not super bad ones like i have seen in other states!!! Clyde has had this facility for probably 50+ years and have greatly improved his facility over the years and everything is thriving real well and has and is still standing strong!! Great animal keepers and well educated Animal keepers know where they live and what their weather is like not only for the durability of the Animals habitats but what is needed to have each animal thrive due to our weather a lot of them are not from places where the climate is anything Like PA climate!!! Bottom line is everything is still standing wonderful and all the animals are still thriving as of 2020!!

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw his set up was "wouldn't a hurricane tear those things apart?" That's a lot of animals that don't have something sturdy between them and the weather. Do they get relocated when severe storms roll through?

Bad Sharon! That they are now in trouble is so very distressing.
