The republic of ireland just strangled all the fun out of car culture. I'm from the republic but moved north of the border to nordy land. And I was able to buy nissan 350z fairly affordably. Like tax on it is £360 a year for a 2004. To tax the same car in the republic alone it would be 1800 euros. Never mind trying to get it insured. Feel like I'm living in some tax haven Switzerland style place up here in county down compared to home

Never be ashamed of the gen2 Prius. I've had one for years and its a brilliant little car. Stupidly practical and reliable.

I’ve got a gen2 Prius. It’s got a TRD suspension lowered 1 1/2 inches. Tom’s racing braces all around. It still gets 48 mpg. Good sound system. Project lithium battery is now available for more power and longer range. 17x215x40 tires. Side skirts, spats, diffuser and rear wing. Upgraded projector hid headlights. You can modify them. Lifting them is starting to be a big thing for light off road driving. It’s a fun dayly.

With so much metal work done, I would’ve honestly had the car 100% soda blasted, and put on a rotisserie and have every square inch epoxy primered just to seal in everything.. expensive probably, but having everything uniform and matching would be cool. But I know everythin* was put together and done in-house while on the ground.. but it would’ve made things more promising for the future of the car and insure no cancer would come back

Van life is where it's at, I gave up on sports cars and bought a rusty bomb of a van it's a 1986 Toyota liteace xtra trak. it's a 5 speed 4x4 with free locking hubs on the front. It was an import from yesteryear, drives perfect but like home job paint job, rust, dents, weird mural on roof, gutted interior etc. Going to be a cool project/daily

I also daily drive a hybrid. A 2010 Honda CR-Z so still an enthousiast car and it even has a manual transmission. I love my CR-Z just as much as my project Civic so the future isn't that grim if they make more cars like that!

iv definitely glad insurance and stuff isnt that strict in england, in fact for car enthusiast we're almost persuaded to get an old car coz anything over 40yrs old is tax and mot exempt, insurance isnt great but you can always get it, im 17 and for the first year of inurance for my 1990 mk2 golf 1.3 was £1500 so not great but not awful altho not looking foward to next year coz for the first year mods dont change anything on my plan but they will next year. im planning on keeping my golf for a while build somthing cool, planning a 180sx but if something like a delta integrale came up i wouldnt be able to say no

Mad to hear how fucked the insurance system still is back home. Popped into my insurance company yesterday here in Perth who specialise in modified cars, added my Paseo to my policy and adjusted the values of the other 3 cars and walked out with 4 vehicles insured fully comp for €1470. Have 2 other vehicles insured with the RAC and all up between the 6 vehicles, insured fully comp for top money, is €1936.

I just bought a honda stream rsz. Its puss as torque wise, but its an 1800 single cam with v tec 😅. If Im patient, it will give me 13.8 kms/ltr It has paddle shifts and double wishies in the rear. 7 fookin seater lad, but not a giant shitter. Liking it so far. You should keep all the different colours on the 86 and put the united colours of Benetton stickers on it.

Comercial vehicles and plant will still be produced with normal engines. Yup like you said. im in Qc, Canada and its still cheaper to Daily drive old beater then newer cars with payments! id rather use my 1989 C1500 5L that does 17L/100km cheap to insure(1side) paid cash fixed a thing or two on it, parts are dirt cheap. 87 Octan is 1.69CAD/Liter as of today. then pay 600-800$/month + gas and the 2000-3000$/yr to insure. because part are hard to come by and shop prices also went skyhigh.

I myself I own a drift 370z and a 1949 Chevy fleetline so it’s always wild!
