The African dance of this contestant enchants Rafa Méndez | Auditions 01 | The Dancer

‘The Dancer’, the adaptation of the successful ‘The Greatest Dancer’, aims to find the best dancer of the country. Ion Aramendi and Sandra Cervera present the Television Española dancing competition, in collaboration with Fremantle. The actor and tv host Miguel Ángel Muñoz, the singer and dancer Lola Índigo, and the choreographer and tv host Rafa Méndez will be the captains.
The three of them have developed their artistic careers within the show and dance business. Their mission will be to make three teams of dancers. During the auditions, in each episode, they will see 14 performances of solo dancers, couples, or groups. The candidates will try to show on the stage how much they deserve to be qualified in the competition. It won’t be easy for them, as they have to get at least the 75% out of the votes of the audience at the TV set in order to open the mirror behind which they are performing.
The dance talent show will see dancers of any age and dance style from all around the world. They will join the show to open that mirror, or to get the long-awaited Direct Pass from the captains. In each episode of the auditions, only one captain will be able to give that direct pass to the semifinal. Nevertheless, it won’t be the only chance for them: in each audition, the three captains will choose one contestant to join their team and compete in the Final Decision, the one before the semifinal. Who will get it?

No really. She was just saying that her parents didn't approve of her dancing. She was just trying to make the judges feel sorry for her. Her dance was great though

Her parents migrated from Sénégal to Spain and like most migrants from complicated places, they did not suffer through to all the process and hardship of moving to Europe to see their children waste their time choosing dead end jobs. Therefore they never supported her dancing (nor did they have the time to) and she came to the competition by herself because she didn't tell them about it. It is a question of culture. Not to say a spanish or any western european person wouldn't feel the same way about their kids wanting to be an artist of any sort but the judgment and the sacrifices are not the same depending on where you come from. So yes, they made it sound a little more dramatic than it actually is but for her it was because there is always the culture shock of seeing of how local parents behave with their own children and how the migrant parents behave with you. The way they give love, as she said is mostly throughout giving you a roof over your head and puting food on the table. I've seen it happen with a vietnamese friend brouhght up in Italy and it was the same. They don't give hugs, say they love you, spend time playing with you or feel sorry for you get physically or emotionnally hurt. Which is normal to them but not to you since you see all the local kids being cared for and loved in a way you never experienced which makes you feel less worthy. But his father may have been one of the few "lucky" survivors of crossing the mediteranean sea after crossing several other african countries in verry difficult conditions. So wether it is verry sad or not depends on what exactely her family and herself have gone through because if we cut it down to just her family doesn't support her dancing it doesn't seem so dramatic of course.

Padres hay que apoyar a los hijos con sus talentos, aunque estos no sean rentables, porque primeramente los hará madurar emocionalmente, y luego podrán siempre ir por el buen camino, y tomar sus mejores decisiones. Padres de seguro esto los hará felices, y les dará una vida tranquila y en paz.

He seguido todo el programa The Dancer. Me encantó la belleza de esta mujer! Su siguiente performance, es más bella aún. Recuerdo que tuvo que dejar el programa porque no tenía tiempo para ensayos, ya que en el trabajo, le hicieron problema y no podía con todo. Siempre la recuerdo. Tienes razon. Sus padres seguramrnte han luchado montones para darles mejor vida. Mira emigrar de Senegal y abrirse camino en un pais europeo sin contar que habra racismo. No la han tenido nada facil. Es comprendible que sean duros. No se han dado cuenta que su hija y su talento es un balsamo y un endulzante a su existir. En Colombia somos multiétnico y culturales, en la Costa Norte de donde es Shakira, convergen la cultura afro,indígena y en el caso de Shakira con descendencia libanesa, la chica es tremenda bailarina tiene escuela y todo, pero aquí en Colombia lo ves como algo común , En la Costa Pacífica también son muy buenas en danza. Porque África está por todo el mundo y eso lo llevan en su ADN, estén donde estén. No hay cosa más rara en la vida, que un negro no sepa bailar. Ojo digo negro, no como discriminación y menos yo que mi padre es negro.Lo digo porque así es sin lugar a ofensas, además me encantan los negros.

Hasta ahora, Fatima es la mejor de todos los video clips que han cargado. Tiene ritmo, estilo, escuela, los movimientos estan muy bien terminados. La danza tiene un comienzo, un medio y final dramático y esta muy bien estilizada. Ella tiene presencia en el escenario también. Hay gente que puede bailar muy bien pero ante las cámaras desparecen, ella se crece. Las cámaras la adoran.

Its sad. Her parentS told her theyve gone through alot for her to be doing stupid stuff. But she kept dancing.So she was there dancing and no family supported her. At the eNd it was all worth it

What a fabulous program this is. I hope to see more in the future. Whilst the US and UK have dropped similar shows, even if I do not understand every word that is said, the judges and contestants come with so much passion and dedication that it touches the soul. Even as a non-dancer, I am spellbound by the diversity of talent and the warmth of the panel. Exceptional.
