What is the African Union? Compared to the European Union the African Union was formed just five years after the formation of the European Union but is 6times bigger and it was formed in the aftermath of independence victories in Africa.
Its promise is to bring Africans together and propel the continent towards peaceful coexistence, eradication of all forms of colonialism, economic growth and cooperation.

What I never understood is why the Chinese built our headquarter. I was so angry 200 million, you want to tell us that all the 55 nations combined could not raise 200 million so that we can make it ourselves, it had to be a "gift" from the Chinese and you wonder why Africa will never grow, we love free lunches and the fact that they found bugs in the HQ just goes to show there is nothing like free. Africa stay woke don't be fooled.

I tend to think that the African leaders are not so concerned about the privacy of their forward political activities, and so they expose the continent's business unconsciously, they put too much trust in external companies/governments, that is why the headquarter was allowed to be built by the Chinese, the Chinese came to Africa as a "friend " and so the Africans either let down their guard or never put up any guard, suspicion my brother much be your first line of defense, the Chinese are not in Africa because they want to help Africa they are there because they have seen things in Africa that they want, now the burden is on the leaders to make sure that the resources of Africa are used to the benefit of the African people.

French African countries need to get France off their backs, France has been fleecing those countries for years and it has to stop before Africa can move forward, if Africa unit as one nation it means that all of Africa will now be giving France an annual allowance in return for the independence of some African countries, shake off France.

Afrika has more countries than any other continent in the world because those other countries are united while Afrika is not. The Afrikan continent needs to unite politically with one strong military, one Economy. This would make Afrika the most powerful in the world considering all the natural resources. @@BonsuBigWhale Malema has spoken of dropping borders whereas Ramaphosa speaks of United Africa through easy trade throughout the continent. Malema does not speak for all South Africans and I believe he is rushing his plans without properly planning first. South Africa can not be expected to drop it's borders while the rest of the continent has sovereign states, it wouldn't be fair or smart. In fact, some countries are tightening their policies to make it difficult for other Africans to run businesses in their borders. If we are really speaking of one Africa it should not be the responsibility of one or a few countries.

I know it will be tough for many people , but languages other than Swahili and Arabic should be removed from the official languages of the AU , and more indigenous languages like Amharic , Fulani , Yoruba , Oromo , Somali , Berber Igbo , Manding and other languages should be implemented for better representation of the Continent. If you all really want to be free , then all kinds of Colonialism and Colonial Stuff should be rooted out as soon as possible.

I have always been in support of one Africa but how do we do it without setting ourselves up for failure? We need to plan before anything else. The fact is that our continent is the poorest in the world (even though we are actually a very rich continent in truth), we have very poor infrastructure and a lot of internal conflicts. These are not going to magically go away once we drop our borders. We need a solid plan. My suggestion: we put out a plan for every independent state to put in the actual work, upgrade the infrastructure, build schools, clinics, hospitals and universities. Work towards ending tribalism because it causes divisions People deserve to have access to healthcare services and education and a good quality of life no matter where they are in Africa. The African Union should then monitor the progress of each country over the years. This will help us stop competition for scarce resources or overcrowding of certain regions of the continent. The fact is that people go where there are resources, where they can feed themselves and their families. When we have put in the work then we can think about becoming one Africa not now. We will only be causing ourselves problems. ✌️

This is the same thing you see how members from Francophone countries have been been very opposed to forward thinking politicians like Julius Malema (EFF- South Africa). Question: if all of the African continent were to become a single political unit, a la the United States or Mexico, like the OAU originally strives for, do you thing member states would exchange territory where it would make more sense among ethnic-religious-linguistic divides? The USA’s system and state format doesn’t really account for these divides (partly because the US is so intermingled), but do you think an African Political Union such as thar prescribed by the OAU would work? Africa needs to remove all foreign militias and colonist embassies/ high commission so they can sort out uniting themselves without risk of sabotage. Meanwhile remove all Africans who side with the colonialist

africa definetely needs to unite and open a new market which wil benefit the continent itself. The hell with the UN because the UN means China, Us (or Israel) . I am north african and step 1 is getting rid of this devide between sub saharan africa and north africa and east africa vs west africa . Letting China built railroads for you? I went mad as shit ,when wil we africans learn ? Thats what happens when we are divided! We have everything we need on this continent. resources, high percentage of young people ,beautiful smiling people but we are not united . Its a shame! Now we have a continent divided, depraved from its resources and each dollar invested from the west in africa means that eventually 11 dollars go back to the west and 2 pennies goes to the africans who sold their own land and people . tep 1.Stop paying interest over so called money the west is BORROWING YOu(after stealing everything )Interest makes richest richer and poor people poor and slaves .(yes its a form of slavery) . 2. UNite and get rid of tribalism. History has proven that once people unite with other people you come up with more ideas, but you wnat to stay PROUD and look down upon other? Go ahead and let your ''ministers'' go around USA and western countries to ask them for more money.

This is all politics the real reason why Haiti was deny membership is because it woulda been black people unifying nationally and the last thing the world wants to see especially Europeans an USA is for Black people no matter what nationality, ethnicity, religion, and or language to unified. I have no doubt in my mind that the AU was told through politics not to do so or there will be consequences. And we need to understand that the AU is colonized meaning they would be over marked by Europe ans

Africa is still mired in poverty, unemployment and ignorance. There can never be free movement of people on the continent because it will be a disaster, mass migrations, boats and chaos. Africa needs 5,000 years to implement the idea of freedom of movement on the continent
