The fact that this is Foekoe's most anticipated game to see how bad it is and he still got dissapointed really shows how pathetic the game is

The worst a "bad game" has to offer is that the original concept/idea seems good or had the potential is good.

In some alpha, the neighbor would actually physically drag you out of the house instead of teleporting you there, it was one of the things that I thought was actually pretty cool. They removed it. Sure, it was a little broken and I even think you could stun him and escape if you grabbed something while you were dragged but it just added the uniqueness and depth that the game needed (well, at least a part of it). It was so fun to just be thrown out of the window and see all of it happen.

From what I have seen. Hello Neighbor 2 is like a puzzle game where you sometimes have to leave the area where the puzzles are. And if you don't you just get forced to with almost no punishment.

My least favourite part is how boring the game is The first games bugs were so wacky you could make your own fun This games bugs are just stuck AI and barely anything more

idk why but i really like the artstyle of hello neighbor 2. maybe it's the warm colors but i dig it. if only it wasn't tied to a janky mess of a game/franchise. would been fascinating to look at if there is a little misfortune type game but with HN2 artstyle.

At least Security Breach had Vanny appear in the game as a threat, if for a very short time. The crow appears for four seconds in a _cutcscene_ at the _END_

I haven't seen their videos explaining it, but the "neural network" stuff was probably going to be on a per-player basis... i.e. the AI would start at a default setting for each save file and would only learn from the player's actions in that save file. The line "AI that learns from *your* actions" suggests this as well (at least until they removed it from the game description 🙃)

Funnily enough, the DLCs for Hello Neighbor 2 were made by, guess who? Steel Wool Studios, the same guys who did FNAF Security Breach, and they are even worse than Security Breach. Now I don't think it is incompetence, it is certainly time constraints. Edit: I saw people confusing Hello Neighbor 2 with Half Life 2 (doesn't even have any DLCs, only the first game), so I changed it, sorry if it was somewhat misleading.

6:53 You hit the nail on the head. Halfway through development Nikita (director, level designer, and composer of HN, HS, and early HN2) was replaced by Alexus. Alexus spent an entire year cutting things (crowbar animation, holding down E to open windows, generators, paint buckets, the guest, an entire artstyle, etc) then he went on a sabbatical 2 weeks before the game launched. Thanks Alexus!

The funny part is the spin offs are more well received than the base games.

But then again if you want to play a GOOD puzzle game with almost all of hello neighbours aspects, just play Portal

I think the biggest issue with Hello Neighbor and the sequel is that the alphas almost never reflect the final version’s layout. Examples would include the first few alphas of the first game essentially being entirely scrapped like the idea of the Neighbor being the player’s father and the second game’s near complete removal of the crow guy as well as aspects seen in Hello Guest.

alien isolation still remains the king in horror games when it comes to AI. no other horror game to my knowledge has more well designed ai that is actually smart and is actually a threat than the xenomorph. that game is 7 years old!

Where was that hyper intelligent ai we were promised? The one that would try and predict your path and cut you off or not fall for your hiding spots, why did we get an ai that can lose you by crouching behind a lamp?

What happened to the franchise was unfortunate because its first few iterations were really good, simple, but promising. The art direction is also very charming, but pretty graphics will never cover up broken gameplay.

What I hate is how short the game is and also none of the characters besides one of the cops (the other shows up in one cutscene at the start) was kept, they removed the Crow, Beatrix, the detective, the original story characters (from the early beta builds that you got for pre ordering had a different story where you were searching for not just Aaron but also Miya and Nicky during the events of the end of act 1)

For me the best hello neighbor game is Hello Guess, it was just so mysterious and it truly felt terrifying, the ambeintation was also perfect despite being a super low quality version of a hello neighbor game i give it a 9

You can hear the pain in his voice from playing and researching such a bad game and it's predecessors, may I suggest your next reveiw/video be on slime rancher 1 and 2? The first one is old but it is a very good game and the second is in prerelease but should be out soon. It'd a very nice single player survival/farming simulator game.

I am surprised the devs didn't take the criticisms of the first one to improve on the gameplay loop, it literally plays like a DLC for the first game just with some updated visuals.

If you want an actually good Hello Neighbor game, then play Secret Neighbor, at least the Guest is playable. And we do now have good news about HN2's future! Alex, the CEO of tinyBuild, who was previously unaware of why the full game didn't have Alpha 1.5's features, has now instructed EGS to improve the AI as the absolute top priority, so that'll presumably the first update.

A game like Hello Neighbour but plays really good and actually scary is Stay Out Of The House. I think you should try it out

crucial issue is how little you could pick up/interact with. it made everything you interacted with obvious showing you it’s part of what you have to do. the first hello neighbour allowed you to interact with so much you could literally curve around the game stacking boxes to get to a crucial part completely differently. now it’s just completely boring. :/

As someone who was in the hello neighbor fandom for a while, including the discord i literally have no idea why the game is so shit honestly every single expectation just isnt there at all.

From one of the videos you did, this is my own opinion but the only reason people probably loved the full game of Hello Neighbor 1 is it actually didn't glitch much, it had a ending and also items don't glitch when you drop it in certain spots (this will happen to the shovel from the hunters house if you drop it it will either respawn or you will have to reset the entire game)

When I was 12 I was looking forward to this game so much. The game had a lot of promise and looked decent. But then I bought the new game played it and beat the game in 4 hours when I paid like 50 dollars for the game. Tiny build fix your game it’s quick and doesn’t even have the crow in it that was advertised so much. This game had told us so many lies, I want my money back!

i was a fan of hello neighbour since the earlier stages and it disappointed me so much where it went. i think i’ll always follow the game in some aspect but i would’ve changed so many parts of the final game as it just didn’t get executed well. i love the concept and idea of HN and it just felt like a waste of a great idea. i think they just wanted to appeal to a younger family channel type audience and that skewed the direction of the original game idea. i liked hello neighbour 2 a lot more than the first one as the gameplay made more sense and i preferred the overall aesthetic of the game but the story just started confusing me and that was honestly my favourite part of the original game. it’s just so inconsistent with plot holes

i feel like i know why the whole franchise is like this tinybuild games, despite wanting this to be a full on franchise, doesnt take it seriously each alpha, each game feels more like they were experimenting on certain mechanics and elements, and thats not good when you are trying to make this whole this a franchise on itself like you said in the Hello Neighbor 2 video, they should stop trying to stretch the whole franchise out and actually focus on making one big game without having to bust out several alphas, betas, and "completed" games, they obviously know they have made mistakes in the past but sometimes they dont act on that with future games, they should put their full attention on the next game they will produce, see the mechanics that were presented in advertisements and the alphas they should also really focus on continuing with a better, less complicated story and timeline that can make sense

Forget the story of the game being okay at best. The games, books, and “series” don’t line up. Heck, there are inconsistencies with the games’ story in the games, inconsistencies in the books’ story in the books, you get the gist of it. If you’re gonna make a story, stick with it

I'm planning on checking out this game. I have little experience with the series and I don't know much lore other than MatPat's videos. I felt like Hello Neighbor should've been a game about exploring a cool house and platforming and finding secret passages and stuff. Like a first-person Banko-Kazooie in a big cool house with a rollercoaster in it. The game has a really cool aesthetic to it; I just wished it was... a different game. I hear this one is better than the first.😢

The main game has so much promise but you spend way too long figuring things out the first time through but once you know how to solve the puzzles it’s way to quick of a game for the price. The AI is ridiculous and spawns wherever you need to be. The dlc is actually pretty fun if you could actually complete them. It’s so broken you can’t even make it to the end without glitching into a wall where you’re stuck and have to start over or the game just shuts down.
