He's a great actor, but in my opinion, he's given one of the weaker performances ever since the show started. Emma, Rhys, Paddy, Olivia, Tom, Eve... all put him to shame. That’s why I always laugh when people complain about it looking bad or the show I lazy about costumes or whatever. Like yes, characters will wear the same clothes in multiple scenes, but the amount of detail that goes into every piece of clothing is great. Like people were saying Aegons armor looked bad, and people can have opinions. But watching the people that built it talk about the process and thought behind it makes me respect the outcome a lot more. I really wish everyone would watch these behind the scenes episodes cause they really show just how hard these people work

@@queenlilaerys13 Actually, nearly all the filming is in the UK. The studio interiors are at Leavesden in Watford, most exterior stuff has filmed in Wales, Cornwall, Hertfordshire and the Lake District and they do actually use certain castles for battlement scenes. Caceres in Spain is King's Landing. SA just doesn't have the right look and now would look completely out of place as a Westeros stand-in and far too expensive. Sorry.

Kind of shocked that the dragon head was cgi. Then again, i thought a few frames from Godzilla Minus One was a prop, so what do I know?

Alicent has been disappointing but also hilarious. Of course Aemond and others were going to trounce her for the regency! Their whole motive is that a man is better than a woman at ruling. Excellent in-character direction for team Green, but Alicent just comes off as this petty woman who pouts.

You can literally see every dollar being spent on this show. Meanwhile some other shows that spent just as much looks like a cheap CW knock off.

But the Targaryens don't own any Valyrian armor.

Aegon the Conquerer had a set during the Conquest, so they had that one set at the beginning of their Reign over Westeros in book canon at least, dunno if Aegon II was meant to have that same set or not
@the_rzh

@@Imsohighrightnow2 Nope, in book cannon Aegon had a Valyrian steel circlet (little tiara-like crown). Euron Greyjoy has the only known set of Valyrian steel armor. It's a big deal because, just like the swords, the upgrade is a destabilizing advantage to the bearer. If the Targaryens had such armor, It would have been written about just like Dark Sister and Blackfyre. Rhaegar would have worn it at the Trident. It might have given him the winning edge over Robert Baratheon.

@@the_rzh Well, the armour exists in show canon, mate, and you're the only person i've seen complaining about it. Even the hardcore book fan channels haven't complained about it lol Way to nitpick, champ.

More sword fights would be nice, you know, 1v1's like the original GoT had. Dragons are cool an all but I feel like we're missing swords in HotD

Except the Dance of Dragons has virtually no 1 v 1s, apart from the Cargyll fight. Most of it is big set piece battles and dragon fights, so i'd lower your expectations, mate.
