You are right, sir. I am studying econ right now and this is exactly how it is. Unlike other classes in college, such as criminology or an accounting class, economics requires a much "deeper" and internal understanding of the course content. You have to ponder deeply. And out of all the social sciences, econ tries to be the most "scientific", which adds an extra layer of complexity. Double majoring in Economics and Computer science.
