Hi Mick, bostin tutorial mate, just gerrin into airbrushin meself, bought a rook of createx wicked colours, badger patriot 105, compressor etc and bin avin a goo at tryin to do some skulls with real fire, gone a bit tits up a few times while i get used to the airbrush and the paints, musta watched 100 `how to real fire` videos on ere but your`s is the fust one that shows it in absolute detail which someone like me can follow in real time, crackin job mucka,, BTW Willenhall here near Wolvo so we have similar accents dow we,,, arr LOL. Thanks for this mate it`s taught be a hell of a lot.

Hi mate, wonder if i could pick your brains please, bought myself some createx wicked colors, a badger patriot xtreme 105 to do some airbrushing at home, not for commercial just pleasure, had a go at doing a real flame skull today while watching and pausing your tutorial video, my first attempt, it`s gone okay, needs a bit of work and more layers, but i can`t seem to get the very fine details like you can,when you do the white on the skull, the red, orange and yellow it`s very controlled and precise and even and your air pressure sounds a lot higher than mine, ive been running mine between 20 - 30 psi to get an idea what difference it makes, i don`t know if my paints to wet or dry, i`m using the proper createx 4012 reducer for it, or whether it`s my air pressure that`s too low or high, i just can`t seem to find that sweet spot, is their any advice you could offer me please, if so thanks for your time, cheers
@mickeyracer
@mickeyracer 4 жыл бұрын
My air pressure is a lot lower buddy, im using about 15psi for water based paints, the fine detail will come buddy, it can take a little practice, plus white is the worst colour ever to airbrush with. Im using solvents in the video which flow so much better than waterbased so does make it easier

This is the best airbrush shading and light source tutorial on KZfaq. I learned a lot. I do have a question my gun won't do nice lines. It acts up sometimes it's ok but others it shoots thick and water. It's a cheap gun if I bought a 180$ would that help my fine lines. I'm ok on the triggers so I know it's not me.

Question for you sir, from a rank amateur. When you tell us the ratio of the reduced white paint as 6:1 or 8:1 are you referring to 6 parts white to 1 part reducer, or the other way around?

hey Mick what is a good air pressure to use for most paintings or does it depend on what your doing for EG: portraits or is there a common pressure for everything since you don't reduce the paint at all thanks jay
@mickeyracer
@mickeyracer 6 жыл бұрын
GlassSkull im running at about 15psi, and havent touched the dial in about 4 years, but it mainly depends on the airbrush, but 15-20psi is pretty much a good start point, hope this helps, thanks Mick
