Rabbits are back in the crosshairs as Mat Manning targets a paddock where the burrowing pests are posing a danger to ponies and other livestock. He’s set up with a scope-cam for this ambush, so you can watch the shooting action unfold right through Mat’s sight picture.

My dream gun, the FX Crown in .25 caliber. I've never even shot one and even more unlikely that I will own one. I know this gun is worth every penny. Maybe one day.

Hi dude, My uncle had had this air rifle before he bought a new Diana 460 Magnum last year..Daystate is really an awesome rifle..It is famous for its long range accuracy..

My back can't take lying prone for long. Matt,you should take a collapsible seat and use your tripod sticks,you can stay comfortable for hours.Great vid👍

No night vision. It's a Sony Handicam attached to the rubber sleeve from a flip-up lens cover with step-up rings so I can slide it straight on to the scope. All the best. Mat

Nice wee bunny session (.22" FAC I presume?) and a nice review of the Crown too, though I'd definitely fit a smaller mag and lower scope. 👍🏻 Thanks for mentioning the noisy safety, that sometimes gets missed in gun reviews but it's important for us hunters. 👍🏻

What are you using to attach your camera to the MTC scope? I have the same scope and the zeiss HD handycam. Thanks

Hi Steven. I have glued step-up/down rings to the camera and the rubber sleeve from a flip-up scope cover. That means I can screw the camera to the rubber sleeve and then slide it straight on to the back of the scope. Pretty basic but it does the trick. All the best. Mat

Is the bullet should to made of pure lead? If so, whether it will lead to dirty rifling, so that every dozen shots, it will need to clean the barrel,to keep the accuracy nice.

A side-shot camera/phonemount for your scope would solve your filming/aiming-problem.

You can get a scope cam that attaches to the top of the scope and when you go back into your footage you can edit crosshairs into the shot, this way you don’t have to look into your camera to line up a shot. If you want to see what I’m taking about watch a guy on KZfaq named NOVRITSCH.

Great video Mat I'm from Australia love all your videos and love hearing your thoughts. On the FX crown what type of.177 pellet would you pick to be the best up to 60-70 yards as I hunt rabbits and thank you keep up the great work. Regards Mal

Hi Mal. The FX Crown I tested was sub-12ft/lb so I wouldn't use it on rabbits at much more than 40 yards. I was using .177 Daystate Rangemaster Sovereign pellets. My Red Wolf is 35ft/lb. It shoots perfectly well with 16-grain .22 Sovereigns, though I sometime use Air Arms Heavies. Maximum hunting range for me is usually within 60 yards. All the best. Mat

I held a shotgun license for over 25 years but we had 2 kids so hunting took a back seat im going to reaply for my 12 bore licence And i may apply fac 1 for .22 air rifle Is it difficult to get one ive a lot of farm land for which permission is not a problem I missed hunting badly ive a pal across the lane who helps the local game keeper in keeping down the foxes he uses a .223 Hes had 51 foxes this year I remember speaking with the old keeper up my way 30 yrs ago one year he had over 300 and that didnt dint the numbers they breed like hell I look forward to getting baçk hunting I fancy the .22 airgun faç1 rather than .22 bulĺet rifle I let you knòw how i get on I dont see any problems

My experience with the Daystate product has been terrible! I have had 3 Huntsman Regals that have failed and would not work at all. I threw 2 away and the third went back to Airguns of Arizona. They fixed it so that it works but now I have to recharge the PCP cylinder every 2 days with no use at all. One heck of an air leak! I knew that's going to happen the moment I sent it in for repair. I am not going to stick it with someone by selling it. I am going to send it to the Landfill and purchase another brand! Real Junck!!
